Hazy orange - brown beer. Made with Star Anise. Thick white head. Slightly soft and slightly dry palate. A little malt and a dash of fresh orange. Finishes with some lagerish malt. Pleasant orangey aftertaste. All right.

Pours a caramel mahogany color. Brilliantly clear. Big off-white head that lasts quite a bit and leave huge lace behind. Giant malt aroma. A bit spicy and somewhat sugary smelling. Nice nose on it. Taste is slightly watered down malt. There is a bitter bite. Big malt aftertaste. I don’t get any of the orange or anise in the flavor at all. Decent beer, but not one I would stock up on.

Bottle from De Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Drunk in sunny Vondelpark. Poured a clear copper colour with a minimal tan head. Nose and flavour contained anise with notes of orange and was on the sweet side with some caramel malts lurking. Something not quite right here though and probably my least favourite Mikkeller brew tasted thus far.

Koelschtrinker (11042) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 11, 2011
Nett! 12/9/11/8/5/9

Bottle. Pours a clear, golden amber with a frothy beige head. Good lacing. Aroma is anise and lots of it. Notes of orange peels lurks up from behind. Cloying. Flavour is sweet with anise and orange peels. Finish is malty with a bit of liquorice. Overall this beer is all about the spices. Too cloying for my taste though. 25.09.10.

Clear amber of color with a beige head. An aroma of spice, liqurice and weak orange. A flavor of spice and orange, dry mouthfeel.

Bottle at Monks Porterhouse. Pours ruby with a shortlasting head. very spicy and wintery but lacks the alcohol (but also a interesting twist of the style)

A little hazy amber colored beer, with a thick foamy beige head. The aroma of citrus and orange with hops. The taste is some bitter, dry and fruity. Hints of spices. The aftertaste is dry bitter with some sweet.

A nice beer brewed for the excellent restaurant Dim Sum in Copenhagen. When I had dinner there it turned out that most people actually were drinking this instead of the tradinal white wine. nice that beer is finding their way to the gourmet tables around here. the pour is dak west coast amber crowned with a nice fizzy sounding and frothy 2 inches white head. The nose is dominated of caramel malts, orange peel, some metal notes and a little pepper. The star anis i first find when drinking it. Its low key and a very pleasent beer that have a fine balance. The flavour is primaly calm sweet with nice spiced overtones. The palate is medium for a preimium lager and has a long lasting taste that finish in a mild bitter and sweet end.
