COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

Pours somewhere between gold and copper with a very finely bubbled head, good retention, some haze. Aroma is spicy sweet caramel like a barleywine, nuts, toffee. Taste is decocted caramel malt, toffee, balanced sweetness with some ethanol and hop spice, almost a roasty note but not quite; hint of acidity, some late fruitiness, some harsher aftertastes. Body is silky smooth, medium, finishes long....sweet then spicy then boozy. Overall, tasty and unique.

My friend says orange Flintstone vitamins. She is correct. This is a decent enough beer but I just don’t know why.

Great gold pour with a beige head. Nose is big fresh fruity hops, light sugar, esters, and florals. Excellent on the palate, earthy hops upfront, grass, light fruits, and a sweet finish.

Bottle given as a gift from a friend in Texas. Pours a hazy and light orange/ copper colour, with an enormous white head that hangs thick and clumpy. Leaves behind huge bubbles of lacing. Aroma is so damn sweet. Not really what I would expect from a malt beer. Tastes malty and bitter, but finishes so sweet.
