COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

0,33L bottle. Charming sunset orange color. Versatile enjoyable flavors. Some blackberry, sweet cherry, raw plum notes. Good bitter finish is few minutes on mouth after drink. Nearly perfect, but little alcohol taste complain my score.

Bottle from Voldby Koebmandsgaard, DK - Fuzzy orange colour with a frothy medium off white head. Has a crispy pilsner lager initial taste, but then the beautiful citrus hops take over the palate accompanied by a backing of sweet caramel malt, ending with a good bitter finish. Really impressive stuff this.

Tap: golden orange pour with medium-sized off-white head. Aroma is floral grassy hops with a little tangerine and honey. Flavor is sweet with tropical citrus, honey, then grassy with a light bitterness. A bit sweeter than I hoped but it has decent flavor; not one I would order often.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; clear amber pour with soapy beige head, grassy hop aroma, quite heavy carbonation gives a crisp lagery mouthfeel, that’s where the comparison with lager ends, great hop taste, citrus, orange, passion fruit. Excellent.

Draft at Brewdog Brum. Blonde with nice lace rings. Superbly balanced hoppy beer - cannot believe it’s a pils of any variety. Splendid strength and deep bitterness - yes please.
