Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

Tap@ Stone’s. Clear amber, thin head. Sweet fruity, watermelon, malty aroma. Malty, sweet, grainy flavor with that watermelon coming through. Sweetish finish. Naah. Not for me.

Taste: some citrus, very fruity, bit of exotic fruits, sweet touch, passion fruit, mango, nice bitterness. Aftertaste: citrus, bit dry, chewed up bubble gum that lost all added flavour, very bitter ending, bit malty as well.

Pours a rich orange topped off with a thick head. There’s a strong resin on the nose followed by light citrus ,mint, and apparent alcohol. The hoppy resin proceeds into the pallet and further accented by the clean malt profile. That being said, the hops really shine (as well as the noticeable but not unwelcome booze). Overall, this is a exactly what an imperial pilsner is expected to taste like.
