COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

Interesting. Hoppy for a pilsner. Quite hoppy aroma but with characteristic pilsnery smell. Taste is bitter pilsner but hoppy then a bit more fruity hop flavor before a dry finish. Leaves a nice taste. Hard to describe really. Very good for a pilsner, but...still a pilsner.

Pours a brilliant hazy copper with a thick head that lasts a long time; lots of lacing. Interesting almost bready toasty malt aroma. Heavy sweet malt presence in the flavor balanced by mild earthy hoppiness. Some light citrus notes in the background. Has a very dry finish characteristic of a pilsner. I’d say that this is a fantastic beer and I had no idea a lager could be this flavorful. Highly recommended.

Bottle. Best before 16/10/16. Pours a slightly hazy orange colour with a thin white head. Aroma is light marmalade, a little bread. Light to medium body, medium carbonation. A little caramel, marmalade, lemon zest, grapefruit, warming booze. Despite the sweeter notes it's still fairly crisp and fresh. Nice balance - tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smak och doft av humle, malt, karamell, örter, jäst och brunt socker. Riktigt frisk och fyllig, fin fruktighet och med en tydlig beska som avslutning. Riktig fin imperial pilsner.

Pours a deep golden color with a large white head. Notes of candi sugar, catty hops, earth, and yeast. Packs a punch.

UPDATED: MAY 12, 2014 Quite orange for a pilsner. Smells hoppy in a cheesy way, yeasty, a bit of grassiness, quite metallic. Tastes flavourful for a pilsner - hoppy with a sharp copper-y taste. Body is full for a pilsner - oily with a dry finish. Good for a pilsner, but then again pilsners have never been that exciting for me.

Pours cloudy deep golden color with a pillowy just off white head. Slightly sweet malt and city's notes in the aroma. Mouthfeel is fairly thick and slightly sweet. A touch of spice comes through with the grainy citrus flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Dark gold pour with a middling off-white head. Citrus and hops predominant in the nose., with the hops once more taking centre-stage in the flavour alongside some caramel, fruit and booze . A very drinkable take on a style that isn’t my favourite and verges on ipa territory.
