Brewed by Mikkeller at De Proefbrouwerij in Lochristi, Belgium.

’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.
Ingredients : Water, malts (pils, carapils and amber), light candy sugar, hops (amarillo and cascade) and lager yeast.

Bottle. Moderate grain for the malt, light to moderate perfume for the hops, light dough and soap for the yeast, with honey, nectarine and dried apricot. Head is large, frothy, off-white, with excellent crusty lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is clear, but hazy on the last pour, medium amber/orange. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic, then finishes moderately bitter. Palate is medium, oily with a carbonation between soft and lively. This Strong Pale Lager if full of fruity aromas and well balanced flavors.

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2014 Tap. Pours clear dark yellow, half a finger beige fine head. Aroma is a lot of caramelish pilsner, some malty sweetness and flowery hops. Taste is medium sweet and really awesome fat mouthfeel. Intense and clean taste. Crisp bitter finish. Nice take on a pilsner!

Tap @ Fermentoren. Pours a dark golden yellow with an off white head. Aroma is pretty mild with notes of Grassy hops, sweet citrus and a malty backbone. Taste is fresh, mild hoppy and pilsner-like with notes of Caramel malts, grassy hops and sweet citrus.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap @ Fermentoren. It pours a dark yellow with a coppery tint, sporting a thin crust of white head. The aroma presents with a surprising amount of crisp yeasty stuff, accompanied by heavy malts and raw wort. It also has lots of flowery aromas and - naturally - the crisp citrus and orange of the amarillo. Taste is excellently balanced, also with a crisp yeasty feel; it starts out sweet and frothy but quickly turns dry and bitter. Quite fresh and easy to drink, considering the ABV. Interesting take on the pilsener type; not just a pale lager hopped to shit but a well balanced and thought-through beer altogether. I dig.

0,33L bottle. Pours golden-amber with whiteish head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet, honey like notes, tropical fruits, and malt. Taste is sweet and bitter, fruits, citrus, some grains, and caramel. Finish is fruity dry bitter. Feels light, but not watery. Alcohol is noticeable. Overall: very easy to drink despite the alcohol. The fruitiness is nice; doesn’t feel like any imperial pils I have had before.
