Bottle. Hazy golden body with a huge froth white head. Lovely piney aroma with lots of grass, grapefruit, exotic fruit like passion fruit and peach. Medium bodied. Sweet malty flavour with lots of pine. Caramel, more exotic fruit, pepper, grass and flowers. It ends up very bitter like grapefruit. Very dry.

330 ml bottle @ Olutravintola Pikkulintu. Rated @ 6.3.2010.
Hazy amber colour with a strong off-white head. Nice lacing on the glass. Fruits, citrus and spices on the nose - very DIPA-like. Flavour is floral hops, citrus, caramel, grapefruit and malts. Full bodied with an oily texture and a nice balance. Very good.

On tap at Řrsted Řlbar 8/29/09: Pours a transparent copper orange with a thin wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet caramely malt with a citrusy orange and grapefruity hoppy nose. Starts with good rich caramel malty fullness and lots of sweet juicy rapefruity hops before a full bittersweet finish. A pretty well-balanced and enjoyable IIPA.

Refreshing, light, piney. Very nice crisp bitter rfinish. For anyone esle this would be a milestone, for Mikkeller this is another fine beer without being in their top 10.

Bottle (33 cl) from Ölbutikken, Copenhagen, Denmark. Hazy deep golden, medium white head. Fruity, aromatic aroma, clearly brewed with belgian yeast, with notes of tropical fruits. Medium bodied and smooth. Very refreshing, dry with a kind of gentle bitterness, surprisingly for a Mikkeller brew.

In short: A pleasant very hoppy but also overly sugary sweet American style IIPA
How: Bottle at Beer Temple, Amsterdam
The look: Cloudy orange-blonde body topped by a medium off-white head
In long: The nose is quite hoppy the American way with no specific focus. It is leafy, fruity, piney, and more. Taste is crisp but unfortunately a bit too sweet. Quite sugary (white sugar) and with candied fruits is what I noted first. The malt bill is not rich, caramelized or anything. Just sugary. All that is followed by a sharp fruity and piney bitterness that does not quite balance the whole thing. Sweet sugary after-taste. Too sugary for its own good. I’m not sure what’s there to like about those sugary IIPA. Aren’t hoppy beers better when they are very drinkable, refreshing even? Or maybe I just don’t like sugar anymore. I’m no kid anymore. My birth certificate expired last month.

Sample at Beer Temple, obtained from Glouglouburp, thanks Dany! Cloudy amber orange colour, white head. Aroma of thick sweet malts, yeast, floral and fruity hops. Flavour is sweet, very malty, a bit wort-like, fruity, strong and lingering piny hoppy finish. Medium to fullbodied. Too sweet imo.
