Pours a lasting frothy beige head atop a near opaque reddish black body. Nose is resiny and slightly sour. Flavour of dry stout with a mild tart berry background. Dry through the finish. Tasty. Purchased at Metro Liquors University Heights for around $10.

Bottle shared by Joes @ weekly tasting. Dark brown color, beige head. Aroma is off, it reminds me of plants and vegetables. Taste malts, dark malts and other typical stout - flavors but the beer is a bit thin bodied. Still, it’s quite nice imo flavor wise, but I dislike the aroma. Well, not a real succes imo.

Small bottle. Pours black, not much head. Nose is not much, a bit of choc malt, a bit of wine. Flavour lacks any sort of oomph, a touch of roast, the wine is there at least, better than the grand marnier, but a pretty weak beer, dry stouts shouldn’t be casked. Not really many "subtle" flavours to discuss, either. I can buy Sauternes for the same amount by volume, I don’t see why I wouldn’t just drink that.

gunnar (5105) - Sandnes, NORWAY - APR 4, 2014
Bottle from Vaaland, Bryne. Pours very dark brown with a small creamy tanned head. Aroma is weak maltry, light hops and barrel. Taste is moderate bitter, fresh and lively mouthfeel, light roasted and bitter malt, dry woody finish, good body considering the low abv.

Gorm (1091) - Sandnes, NORWAY - MAR 19, 2014
Mørk rødbrun farve med beige skum. Lukt av malt, sjokolade og frukt. Smak av malt, karamell, kaffe og frukt. Vinøse toner. Vaaland.

ClubGonzo (3854) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 15, 2014
Bottle from Matkroken Natland, Bergen. Pours a pitch black body with a large creamy off-white head. Aroma is chocolate, sweet grainy tones, wood, raisins and hints of port wine. Taste is dark chocolate, sweet cereal tones, raisins, caramel and hints of wood, coffee and faint vanilla. Light body, dry finish, medium carbonation. Not bad, and a little barrel aging certainly adds to a rather boring genre in and by itself.
