Medium to big sweet flavor, quite bitter with lots of earth and spicy, dry pine, some dry toffee. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming to finish with toasty bread, dry pine and dry caramel. Good one.

Bottle - big thanks to Leighton at Jack and his very own birthday pleasantries, 13/04/13. #730/1300.
Hazed dark mahogony brown with a decent sized beige head that retains well.
Nose carries dark malt tones, dates, brown sugars, dark fruits, woody notes, boozey - a little on the harsh side.
Taste comprises dark toffee, brown sugars, earthy woodyness, more booze - again a little harsh, nutty tones, booze drenched sponge and biscuit base.
Full bodied, dry in the finish.
Ok but a little overy boozey.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 jackl (2598) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2013
Big magnum bottle, supplied by Mr. Smith. The pour’s deep rusty red with a massive off white head. It was a real work out pouring this heavy bottle, even for a jacked bro such as myself. The nose is marzipan, toasted nut. Pecan pie. Red berry fruit leather. Ribbon candy sweetness. The taste is more rich berry. Big toffee malt profile. Hints of tart sweetness in the finish. Pretty mellow for 10%. Full body, fine carbonation. Overall, pretty good.

Bottle shared by Leighton at his and Jack’s birthday celebrations. It pours deep mahogany brown with a thick beige head. The nose is varnish, pine, resin, sweet fruit, brown bread, baked goods and some spice. The taste is wood, leather, varnish, nice bitterness, resinous, earth, caramel and dried fruit with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Pretty tasty stuff. A fitting celebratory beverage.

Bottle shared by Leighton at CPK, London. Happy birthday! It pours hazy dark amber in color with a long-lasting beige white head. Sweet fruity aroma of peaches, figs and raisin. Taste is quite sweet, a tad syrupy, with caramel and dried fruit notes. Some citrusy hops somewhere as well. Sticky mouthfeel with good carbonation. Need some people to share this big boy.

Aroma has toffee, caramel, some fruity hops and biscuits. Flavour has hops, some resin, caramel, pineapples and apricot. Nice, I like the hop profile here.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Stew41 (1572) - Woodend, AUSTRALIA - FEB 3, 2013
Ah the benefits of slow moving stock. Heavy, boozy (10% ABV notwithstanding) with fruit cake and spice. Well put together despite the ’massiveness’.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ej (327) - Hauglandshella, NORWAY - NOV 14, 2012
Bottle no:265/1300 Deep amber with a slightly tan head. Tonnes of wood and caramel, some oxidation but not in a bad way. Loads of dates and raisins. Taste is sweet at first, giving way to a solid bitter finish. Lots of dates and raisins also here, and some medicinal hints from the oxidation. Full bodied and well carbonated.
