Bottled. A pitch black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma has notes of coffee, roasted malt, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle 150cl.

Clear dark brown black color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is light heavy malty, hard roasted, dark chocolate, light burnt, moderate hoppy, dry hops, light alcohol. Flavor is heavy sweet and light heavy bitter with a long to average duration, roasted, dry coffee, dry dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100507]

Bottle @ CBF, 2010.
Pours completely black with a lovely, creamy, beige cappucino head. Aroma is soft and sweet, roasted, chocolate, elegance. But not all that powerful. Low carbonation, utterly amazing dry and creamy mouthfeel. So velvety... Flavour has roasted malts, light liqourice, chocolate, some milky notes. Long, lingering, bitter aftertaste with chocolate and coffee. Really delicious, elegant and very bitter. Yum (sadly the aroma isn’t as powerful as I’d have liked).

Tab @ CBF. Pours deep brown/black woth a frothy brown head that has a short hold. Aroma has malt sweetness, berries, roasted, chocolate, little coffee. The taste has coffee, roasted, hops, a little malt sweetness, little berries. Medium carbonation, medium to large body, long duration. The after taste is hoppy and a bit metallic and weird.

Soft palate, soft bitterness. In the end a little too bitter for my tastes. Sampled at the Ølfestival.

From bottle at Copenhagen Beer Festival. Velvety and round stout with liquorice and coffee. If you want to sample the Mikkeller quality while avoiding their most extreme stuff, this is it.

1.5 L bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is smooth dark malty and roasted. Sweet caramelish and dark malty, hardroasted and slight acidic. Yeasty fruity note. Bitter and dark roasted into a dry and dark malty finish.

A beautiful beer. Huge malt bitterness from that deep dark roast. Some hints of hop but rich and chocolaty with an oatmeal body.
