Poured from a large bottle. Pitch black body with a tan coloured layer. Earthy malts to the nose, mid-sweet and slightly roasted. Taste of liquorice mixed with grainy, dark malts. Bitter endnotes of coffee. Soft on the swallow. Well made porter (RateBeer meeting point at Copenhagen Beer Festival, 08.05.2010).

Bottle @ CBF, 2010.
Pours completely black with a lovely, creamy, beige cappucino head. Aroma is soft and sweet, roasted, chocolate, elegance. But not all that powerful. Low carbonation, utterly amazing dry and creamy mouthfeel. So velvety... Flavour has roasted malts, light liqourice, chocolate, some milky notes. Long, lingering, bitter aftertaste with chocolate and coffee. Really delicious, elegant and very bitter. Yum (sadly the aroma isn’t as powerful as I’d have liked).

The taste has coffee, roasted, hops, a little malt sweetness, little berries. Medium carbonation, medium to large body, long duration. The after taste is hoppy and a bit metallic and weird.

Soft palate, soft bitterness. In the end a little too bitter for my tastes. Sampled at the Ølfestival.
