Dark brown/black, brown head. Aroma has coffee, liquorice, heavy roast and cocoa beans. Taste has roast, coffee, cocoa, chocolate. Pretty good balance, a little rough but it softens up nicely with temp.

4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. I must say my expectations for this were quite high and I have been looking forward to this one for a long time now. Had at the Mane Liquor Meeting. Pours a deep, dark brown with a big, fluffy tan head - a good three fingers in width. Nose is pleasant and hoppy. Roasted coffee, chocolate and hops. LOads of chocolate and hops in the taste. Thick chocolate holds its presence with a solid dose of hops finishing the beer off. Amazing ! Delivers in every way although wasnt expecting such a big hop presence, which isnt bad at all mind you. Will gladly have again despite the price tag

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Poured bottle 187/1170 into my Mikkeller Festival tulip. More of a imperial porter tending to imperial stout. Pours a black with a huge tan/chocolate head that leaves plenty of lacing after it finally dies down. As I poured it into my glass the stream had a very dark ruby red tinge to it.
Hoppy with a bit of chocolate, roasted malts. The hops are very forward (nice to meet you!) and almost overpowers everything else. Nice hop presence though.
Chocolate, hops, and sweet mixed with a nice hop bitterness. Pleasantly balanced.
Very carbonated thinning out what could be a very thick beer. Nice balance. A slight chocolate sweetness is left behind each swallow mixed with a bitterness from the hops.
Very drinkable. I wish this was a regular beer in the lineup, but would not give up the beer geek line to make way for this one.

Its pitch-black with a huge, brown and creamy head. The aroma has notes of coffee, dark chocolate and hops. The flavour has a moderate sweetness and notes of hard-roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and the finish is hoppy, and perhaps a little too bitter.
