Bottle split at Chriso Easter tasting, thanks to Kenny, 04/04/15. Very lightly obscured orange golden with moderate off White spotting. Nose is rich fruit rinds, French toast, sweet notes, caramel, light spice, earthy musty tones. Taste comprises harsh orange marmalade links, bitter dark fruits, dates, light spice. Full bodied, fine to oily carbonation, warming alcohol in the close. Ok barley wine, drinks below it’s ABV but a bit harsh at times, had 6 of the 7 in this series and none worth a revisit for me considering the price point!

ChrisOs Easter Tasting. Hazy gold beer, small off white head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Spice. Sweet malts. Spicy dried fruits, turning tangy. Some heat, but not in proportion to it’s giant abv. Light semi dry finish. Spicy linger. Overall perhaps a little less spicy than the light toast, but we are splitting hairs here!

Scopey (8397) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 6, 2015
Bottle at ChrisO. Thanks to Kenny.... It pours oily gold with limited head. The nose is sweet, caramel, toffee, apple pie, light toast, cereal and booze. The taste is sweet, apple, varnish, big boozy hit, caramel, honey, candy and pear with a warming finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Pretty hot stuff. Lacking in depth. So-so.

Tmoney99 (11624) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 19, 2015
Bottle. Poured clear brown color with a moderate frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with very good lacing. Moderate to heavy dark fruit and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Moderate to heavy dark fruit sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a complex solid beer.

12.7oz bottle, thanks to tmoney99 for sharing. Totally hazy darker amber color. Minimal head. Nuttiness, toast up front in the nose, and some kind of fruitiness, apricot I think. A lot of caramel in the flavor, very mild spice. Medium-plus body. Lightly slick. Very light carbonation. Like the other Foret I tried, this hides the alcohol astonishingly well -- probably the best part of the beer. Bigger sweet taste, not cloying. Mild bitter. Impressively light warmth to it, with small sips. A nice one to sip on slowly, overall.
