Yorker (1351) - Herning, DENMARK - NOV 27, 2014
37.5 cl bottle @ home. Pours cloudy amber with some sediment and a white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are caramel, toasted malt, dried fruit, wood, and alcohol - with a sweet and alcoholic finish.

skortila (4620) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - NOV 16, 2014
Bottled. The aroma has oak, white wine, caramel, some fruitiness. Clear, copper-amber coloured with not much, white head. The taste is medium sweet, has quite some oak, white wine, hint of wine sourness. Complex. Good, but just a bit too much oak. Would be pretty fantastic if it went out of the barrels a bit earlier.

MacBoost (1399) - Pouring Bus, New York, USA - OCT 18, 2014
No such thing as a "sipping" beer. Chug or get the fuck out.
Pours a hazy copper with almost no head. Aromas of oak and sweet caramel. Taste is sweet and oily. Flavors of oak, sweet sugar candy. Nice mouthfeel, low carb. This is not 19.3%, drinks more like 8%. Nice.

Lore (1220) - Budapest, HUNGARY - OCT 4, 2014
very hazy orange to amber colour, minimal yellowish head; aroma of spicy alcohol, herbs, wood, and caramel, as well as biscuity notes; taste is the same with extremely alcoholic aftertaste; correct barley wine, but this very high ABV has some disadvantages...

Pours a a lightly murky dull-golden color with a pull candy colored head. Quarter inch head retains pretty well. Caramel, oak, and hints of vinegary, wet soured wood. Thick and oily. Sweet tawny port flavor, caramel, alcohol, and fruitiness. Extraordinary!

   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 9/20
mcberko (7230) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 5, 2014
375mL bottle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of toasted oak, caramel, and residual sugar. Flavour is intensely cloyingly sweet, too much so. A heap of caramel as well, creating a very thick, creamy palate. Too much sweetness here.
