Bottle shared at chriso’s Easter 2015 tasting - London. Thanks to professor Kenneth for this gem! Pours hazy gold with a bubbly white head. The nose holds ripe fruits, citrus, light caramel, bread. Big sweet flavor with prominent alcohol, white bread, caramel, marmalade. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Sugary and hot on the finish, with more white bread and caramel. One of the better options in this immoral series.

I knew after having the others a few months ago that this was a sweet toasted beast, best enjoyed sipped. It’s gotten sweeter with time though. It started nice and got a little harder to drink the longer it sat. Just too sweet. Still had some nice aspects to it for sure, but definitely a one time experiment for me.

500 ml bottle from Party Source. Pours a hazy dark golden/amber color with a small off white head. The aroma opens with a big woody herbal character before showing more fruit, caramel and alcohol. The flavor has much more sticky sweet caramel, ripe fruits, wood, more toasted character than the light toast and alcohol. I get every bit of the 19.3%. Big beer.

BOSSbrewer (2707) - Arkansas, USA - JUN 17, 2015
Bottle shared at a tasting at Guinn’s house. Pours amber with no head. Aroma is nutty, caramel, lots of dark fruits. Flavor follows and is really sweet and syrupy. More nuttiness and some spiciness that wasn’t in the Centre light toasted which we did side by side. Overall, a nice sipping beer to share.

Bottle. An unclear dark golden beer with some floaties. Almost no head. The aroma is quite boozy, with canned sugary tropical fruits and some camphor. Even more booze. It’s full bodied, warming as hell, sticky sweet and almost flat on the palate. The flavor is fruity and sugary with too much alcohol. Lasting finish. Way, way too boozy this one, just like the other beers in this series. 150522

Bottle 375ml @ Geokkjer
Pours hazy golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, alcohol, caramel and dried fruits. Taste is heavy sweet and light to medium bitter with a long warm, caramel, woody, dried fruity finish. Body is full, texture is oily to sticky, carbonation is soft to flat.

SmoketreeBrewr (18) - Arizona, USA - MAY 21, 2015
Appearance is dark amber with little to no head. Aroma of ripe peaches and raisons. Tastes like caramelized raisons with a hint of oak and a slight booziness but no where near the booze burn I expected for a 19+% barley wine. Overall a very tasty brew to finish out the night. Will do well with some age.
