The aroma is full of oranges and other citrus fruits and dried fruits. The color is amber orange. The taste is also full of citrus fruits, chocolate and dried fruits. It feels very thick on the tongue because of the high alcohol percentage and the finish is long and it numbs the tongue. A very nice beer!

37.5 cl bottle @ home. Pours cloudy amber with some sediment and a white head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are caramel, toasted malt, dried fruit, and alcohol - with an alcoholic finish.

Bottle from Tipples. Pours hazy brownish amber with a very small off white head. Aroma of some trash juice, burnt wood, leather, dark fruits, tobacco. Flavor is sweet malts, lots of wood, char, some fig and other fruit, a little brown sugar. Interesting. Flavor outshines the aroma by miles. Medium bodied, low carbonation, but surprisingly smooth for the massive ABV. Reminds me a lot of the JW Lees beers, but not really in that class. Not bad. Better than the score indicates, as the aroma and look took away a little.

Aroma is malts, caramel, liquor and mild wine qualities. The flavor is caramel, big/sticky sweetness, fruit and a long and tart/sour/alcoholic finish.

Head reduced to white rim over deep-orange, hazy and finely carbonated beer. Tannines, organic acids (mainly lactic), fruity esters (citrus, banana, strawberry, but also wild fruit), and wood. Bitterish-wry flavour with a sweet-fruity background. Some meaty esters too, and the fruitiness gradually diminishes to a drier, woodier and certainly more alcoholic finish. Orangezeste and apricot brandy. There is caramel, but much less prominent than in the lightly toasted Limousin version. Retronasal one might even suspect some hops. Huge alcoholwarming, very viscously-slick, oily, to the point of sticky. More flavourful than the mentioned Limousin. Still, I don’t like my BW’s too sweet.

375mL bottle, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out more toasted oak than the light, with booze, caramel and fruitiness as before. Flavour is more cloyingly sweet than the light version, with loads of sugar, caramel and booze. Definitely sweeter than the light version, but also more flavourful. More like a liqueur than anything. Decent, but this really isn’t my thing.

Darkish orange with a good pale head. Aroma is brown sugar, honey, raisins, apricot, hint of wood. Full bodied, slick mouthfeel, sweet on the palate, smooth finish. Flavours are apricot, brown sugar, caramel, honey.

Bottle @JB club. Comparing to the other Medium Toasted of the serie. This one is sweet, ’lighter’ than the others, with woody notes.
