3rd bottle at the Fermentoren Aarhus French oak tasting. Pours a clear amber with a small, white head. This one has lots of tannins, oak, sweet jammy fruits, vanilla and caramel. Taste is very sweet, but with dry tannins, more malty sweetness. Very vinous. Big alco-heat in the finish. Red wine much more explicitly here.Low carb, oily body.

Bottle #3 at French Oak Tasting at Fermentoren Århus, see rating of Limousine light toast for rating of base beer. This one has more head. It is even more malty, vanilla, tannins, booze, less fruity and has sweet dark fruits. Acidic booze and very vinous.. Sticky sugary body and dry red wine finish. Some apples, pepper, green apples, heat and very much red wine.

I could not do a decent write up of all these separately, so I will do one and ahre it on each beer’s page. The differences between the light and medium toast version of each were so subtle that I don’t think I’d know they were different beers if I wasn’t being told so. Limo - super sweet, low level diabetes, yet really really doesn’t show the heat. Centre has just a bit more wood (and is that a hop?) that cuts through the sweetness a little more than the other two, making it my favorite ever so slightly. Troncais was back to diabetes sweet, yet all still enjoyable. These are after dinner sippers for sure, but glad to have tried them. I’ll admit I was hoping for bigger differences side by side.

Bottle shared with alexsdad06. Poured hazy dark copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt, alcohol and wood aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy dark sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a complex solid beer.

500 ml bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a hazy dark golden/amber color with a small off white head. The aroma opens with a big woody herbal character before showing more fruit, caramel and alcohol. The flavor has much more sticky sweet caramel, ripe fruits, plums, wood, and alcohol. I get every bit of the 19.3%. Big beer. One to share and drink slowly.

Flavour is composed of rounded toast, vanilla, oak, caramel, tart apple fruit, Warming alcohol is smoother than the aroma. Boozy, bandy apple. Viscous, caramel. Apple pie, spicy.
