Bottle at Monday Club Erzbierschof. A beautiful strong heavy beer. The ultra high ABV is well hidden but noticeable. Incredibly tasty and sweet. Beautiful oak on the lasting finish.

At first I thought this didnít seem to be so impressive. But then I tasted it. Whoa. Appearance is nothing special with a modest head. Aroma, ditto with mainly yeast, then fruit, bread dough, toffee. about it. Taste is an explosion- plump juicy raisins, a bit tart, yet just the right amount of sweet to balance, ditto tang. Really good. Likewise body. Alcohol is totally hidden.

375 ml bottle, I have no idea how old it is but Iím pretty sure Iíve had this bottle for at least 7 months. 11351402 is stamped on the bottle cap. Served in a snifter, the beer pours a cloudy orange/amber color with about a half inch off-white head that didnít stay around for too long. Thereís a decent amount of lacing. The brew smells like oak, caramel malt, stone fruit, bready malt and some booziness. The taste is similar to the aroma, but thereís also some earthiness, honey, sherry and orange marmalade flavors noticeable. This tasted better the longer I drank it. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, itís slick with a moderate amount of carbonation. Itís boozy, but not as much as I was expecting considering this is 19.3% ABV. Overall I liked this, itís certainly worth picking up if you come across a bottle. I also have a bottle of the medium toasted ForÍt du Centre that Iíll have to try soon, so itíll be interesting to compare that brew to this one.

bhensonb (13223) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 30, 2015
Capped 375 from Healthy Spirits. Pours darkly hazy copper. Aroma of fruit and light treacle. Near full bodied. Flavor is kandi, lighter stone fruits, mild treacle, mild heat. Itís far from dry, and not very bitter at all, but itís not sticky sweet, and it is amazingly, laid back, delicious.

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours orange copper wth a modest beige head and a treacle and alcohol aroma. There is a complex flavor that includes fruit, dark molasses and alcohol. A very nice BW.

VDuquerroux (922) - Airvault, FRANCE - OCT 3, 2015
Bottle, 37,5cL. Home. A yellow orange opaque hazy beer with a small white ephemeral head. Woody aroma, roast fruity/winy (ťpine"), fig, raisin. Medium sweet, background warming (+). Full body, thin texture, light silky, average carbonation, sweet lasting warming finish. Overall, really enjoyable, nice balance and palate. Hard to distinguish with medium toasted beer.

Bottle shared at chrisoís Easter 2015 tasting - London. Cheers to Kenny for this beast. Pours unclear yellow-gold with a fluffy white head. The nose holds peach, varnish, pale wood. Hugely sweet flavor with notes of honey, marmalade, light acetone, dough, alcohol. Full bodied, oily, with fine carbonation. Hot finish with lightly doughy malts, strong alcohol, ripe citrus fruits. OK overall.
