A beautiful red golden color. Aroma is oak, toasted grain, caramel. Taste is warm and boozy, sweet. Pretty intense, but also pretty round and smooth for 19%. I love sipping on this just below room temperature.

1st bottle at the Fermentoren Aarhus French oak tasting. Pours a unclear amber with a small, white head. Aroma is very sweep with overripe orange, sweet and fruity honey, slight spice, grapes, fudge, hops, dry oak, red apples. Taste is very fruity and slightly tart up front. Gets very honey sweet after. Big boozy heat, dry, bitter, vinous, but also sweet finish. Low carbonation, oily body.

Bottle #1 at French Oak Tasting at Fermentoren Århus. Pours hazy amber with a white lacing. Aroma of big ripe fruits, greasy butterscotch, wood, weak cognac notes, older hops, weak ripe apples, orange liquor and honey. The taste is rather spicy and sweet with big butterscotch notes, honey, some woody bitterness and dryness as well. The alcohol plays a nice role in balancing out the sweetness.

Aroma is really sweet, caramel, skolekarameller, old fainted hops, fruits, heather honey, over-ripe red apples, vanilla, orange, booze, clove. Taste is sweet, orange, caramel, fruity, spices, vanilla, malt, orange liquor, clove. Has some alcohol booze, oaky slight bitter finish. Alcohol is a good match to the heavy sweetness. I could not do a decent write up of all these separately, so I will do one and ahre it on each beer’s page. The differences between the light and medium toast version of each were so subtle that I don’t think I’d know they were different beers if I wasn’t being told so. Limo - super sweet, low level diabetes, yet really really doesn’t show the heat. Centre has just a bit more wood (and is that a hop?) that cuts through the sweetness a little more than the other two, making it my favorite ever so slightly. Troncais was back to diabetes sweet, yet all still enjoyable. These are after dinner sippers for sure, but glad to have tried them. I’ll admit I was hoping for bigger differences side by side.

ChrisOs Easter Tasting. Hazy gold beer, small off white head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Spice. Sweet malts. Spicy dried fruits, turning tangy. Some heat, but not in proportion to it’s giant abv. Light semi dry finish. Perhaps a touch sweeter than the Du Centre or Troncais but really not much between these BA barleywines.
