Bottle sample at a tasting at the new LiBira brewpub. Thanks eyes_wide_shut and YK23. Deep golden with no head. Aroma of malt, caramel, honey, flowers, wood, some fruitiness, alcohol. Sweet flavor, very boozy, with caramel, honey, fruits, a woody note. Boozy mouthfeel. Way too boozy.

Another excellent BW in this line! Aroma doesnít match flavor too much as itís a bit tart, has a little funk along with yeast and toffee. Thought it might be bad. Flavorís much more sweet than bitter, has enough tang. Very nice drinking beer for its power. Hides alcohol well. Yum.

Bottle, bought @Mikkeller webshop. Pours murky amber with lots of small floaties. No real head. Aroma is sweet, sherry, oak, vinious, caramel. Low carbonation, fine dry and quite oily mouthfeel. Flavour has sweet malts, vinious, caramel, oak, vanilla. Lingering warming finish. Good Barley Wine.

Bottle shared at chrisoís Easter 2015 tasting - London. Cheers, Dr. Ken! Pours clear gold with a fluffy white head. The nose holds varnish, pale bread, lemon rind, peach. Big sweet flavor, heavily alcoholic, with some white bread crust, honey. Full bodied, oily, with fine carbonation. Hot finish, sharp and harsh, with straight alcohol, peach, ripe citrus. Hefty.

VDuquerroux (911) - Airvault, FRANCE - AUG 2, 2015
Bottle, 37,5cL. Home. An orange opaque beer with brown hues with a medium white head poorly persistent. Aroma of fruits (grape, fig), wood, alcohol. Medium to heavy sweet ; round with a nice warming touch in the background ; still some air ; appreciated :) Medium good body, medium oily texture, average carbonation, sweet woody finish. Overall, a really good round warming fruity beer. Drinkable despite of its 19.3% alcohol !!
