Bottle. Poured hazy copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with very good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt, alcohol and dark sugar aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a complex standout beer.

12.7oz bottle, thanks to tmoney99 for sharing. Last bit from the bottle, about 3oz. Totally hazy kind of darker amber color. Nice ring of off-white head, leaves good splotches of lace. Very nice big wood, huge oak, touch of vanilla, light spiciness. Some mildly toasty, caramel malt. Bigger earthiness. Moderate to bigger sweet taste, good moderate bitter taste, nice mild warmth but no burn nor bite. Amazingly easy-drinking and balanced for the ABV. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of creamy, lighter carbonation. Mild dry in the finish, not too dry though. A really impressive barleywine overall. Not anywhere near as sweet or syrupy as other 15%+ ABV barleywines that I’ve tried, which is super-impressive. Fantastic beer.

375 ml bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a hazy dark golden/light amber color with a thin off white ring. The aroma and flavor is big sweet malts, caramel, light woody, some mild tangy orange citrus, mainly sweet everything. There is no doubt this is a big beer, but it is a crazy sweet beer.

S_Side_Smitty (539) - Lakeland, Florida, USA - FEB 7, 2015
Pours brown with a thick off white head. Aroma is oak, mild malts and light molasses. Taste is very sweet up front, followed by the oak and malts. The sweetness lingers all the way to the finish. There is a slight creaminess to this one, but the syrup rules - maybe a little too much.

Habanero (2932) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK - FEB 1, 2015
Bottled. Pours slightly hazy deep golden with an average, lacing off-white head. Aroma of slightly toasted malt, caramel, dark dried fruit, citrus notes and wood. Sweet flavor that ends up more dry with an alcohol burn. Medium bodied, oily to syrupy texture and soft carbonation. A very nice Barley.

olio (6888) - Tampere, FINLAND - DEC 8, 2014
375 ml bottle.
Pours clear orange color with a minimal head, some sediment in the bottle. Very sweet alcoholic aroma, honey and caramel with molasses and some apricot. Very sweet flavor with caramel and toffee, some honey and ripe fruits too, again, apricot mostly, very dry wooden finish, some lingering hops here too! Alcohol burns your throat quite strong here. An extreme heavy brew with some nice nuances. I like the aroma on this one but drinking it is a chore.
