3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I could not do a decent write up of all these separately, so I will do one and ahre it on each beer’s page. The differences between the light and medium toast version of each were so subtle that I don’t think I’d know they were different beers if I wasn’t being told so. Limo - super sweet, low level diabetes, yet really really doesn’t show the heat. Centre has just a bit more wood (and is that a hop?) that cuts through the sweetness a little more than the other two, making it my favorite ever so slightly. Troncais was back to diabetes sweet, yet all still enjoyable. These are after dinner sippers for sure, but glad to have tried them. I’ll admit I was hoping for bigger differences side by side.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle split at Chriso Easter tasting, thanks to Kenny, 04/04/15.
Golden orange with moderate off White spotting.
Nose is rich caramelised fruit rinds, toffee apple, light spice, caramel, touch of booze.
Taste comprises dates, figs, fruit cake, light spice, candied orange peel, caramel, earthy fruit rinds.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, warming alcohol in the close.
Ok barley wine, drinks well below the ABV, probably the best in the series for me but still not a top end beer for this style.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
4th April 2015
ChrisOs Easter Tasting. Hazy gold beer, small off white head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Spice. Sweet malts. Spicy dried fruits, turning tangy. Some heat, but not in proportion to it’s giant abv. Light semi dry finish. Spicy linger. Very similar tothe light toast, perhaps a touch more tangy. Overall this series is a disappointment, far too similar to each other and lacking much depth.
