3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Christian (9697) - Odense, DENMARK - JAN 28, 2010
Dark brown with a big, tan head. Aroma of chocolate, fruits, especially apricot. Fruity sweet flavour with lots of hops and bitterness. It’s a tasty beer, but not much of a bock. Lacks the malt depth. And while I don’t rate to style I was hoping for a Mikkeller take on a classic doppelbock and as such a little disappointed
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 BoBoChamp (4195) - Gent, BELGIUM - JAN 28, 2010
75cl, new exclusive Danish brew Anno 2009, from De Hopduvel Gent, complex brew, balanced, clear, good head, good brew
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Pinball (9702) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 26, 2010
clear very dark amber, smooth large thick head.
spicy and slight sourish, sweeetish, slightly malty aroma, flowery hoppy, roasted grains.
i’d say aroma is a bit messy with the strange sourness not really matching the rest, but for sure it’s complex. alc well hidden in aroma.
flavor is licorice, roasted grains, honey, faint sweet malts, much sweeter profile than aroma, balanced by quite a lot of flowery and slightly piny , grapefruity hops. also a fruity note like dark berries or something. if there is any sourness it is very well hidden. more belgian than dobbeltbock i’d say. alc. well hidden. very strange brew, but quite tasty.
palate is oily. cool.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Adenila (1546) - DENMARK - JAN 20, 2010
Hazy deep amber/brown look with a medium baige head. Strong malty aroma with lots of caramel, alchohol, bread and straw. Flavor is on the sweet side aswell with lots of alchohol to balance it out, leading to a warming finish. Nice one
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Defreni (2050) - Husum, DENMARK - DEC 28, 2009
Fantastisk.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 sayravai (4655) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 28, 2009
(Draught@Brasserie 4:20, Rome) Clear dark red with a medium, cloudy and tanned, lasting and lacy head. Aroma of lightly roasted malt, berries, and slight hop bitterness. Flavor has lots of berries, sweetish-caramely maltiness, light roastiness, well hidden but warming alcohol. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. A quite balanced, berry-accented doppelbock, but obviously not quite at the level of the best German ones.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 MiP (12239) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - DEC 22, 2009
UPDATED: DEC 25, 2009 Bottle, 11.0%. Mild grassy aroma, seems to be quite malty as well. Clear dark red brown colour. Small stable tan head. The flavour is quite sweet, nicely spicy. There is a distinct alcohol note, a roasted touch. Quite bitter finish. Well-balanced.
