COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Bock from Mikkeller is called Frelser. Means Savior in Danish. The name is a subtle reference to all Bocks Mother: Salvator. Originally the monks brewed Salvator because they needed a very strong and rich beer during Lent. Do not drink this beer instead of a meal, it contains 11% alcohol.

Draught at "The Blue Monk" Mikkeller takes over. Pour is pitch black, tan head that is not very thick. Lacing hangs like a clumpy sheet on the walls of the glass. Smells so sweet and caramelized malt. Taste is incredibly sweet like molasses. Maybe a little woodiness as well. This was off charts of good flavor. I’m so glad I got to experience it on draught.

pour is near black with a big ol head of grey that lasts. doubt i’ll get through this tonight. been going for 17 hours and i can see the end of the line. at least i’ll a have a breakfast beer. this is not a beer, it is a syrup, thick goodness. smells of roast, maple, a bit of smoke(could be the 4 mile fire, but i think it is the beer.) and watermelon. damn this is tasty. nice roast and sweet balance. caramel notes all over without being too sweet. some vanilla and a great warming alcohol throughout. peanut finish that has a lot of a lot of honey flavors, like a candy i used to love as a kid. bit-o-honey in beer form. good times.

0.75l bottle from LCBO. Pours an opaque brown, fine beige head. No visible carbonation. Aroma: Very strong muscatel notes. Also hints of orange, caramel, ginger, and some soy sauce. Palate: Full bodied. Thick, smooth. Clean finish. Taste: Fairly sweet. Slightly bitter in the finish. Wonderful beer.

Wow! What a beer. Aroma of brown sugar, glazed figs, and heaven. Pours bock brown with great lacing. Great viscosity. Taste is rich with sugar, fig and slight rhubarb. Amazing beer.

Pours a deep dark brown, large head reduces to a thin lacing, aroma of forest fruits with a bit of alcohol. Tastes of roast fruits, pine , a bit of banana, some grapefruit and some alcohol. Very nice balance and does not feel 11% abv.

Egad! Such a beer! Huge and rich, pours a dark ruby with a big clingy head. Aroma is sugary sweet with burnt underpinnings. Nice body. Taste is gorgeous... Like a freshly-baked flan, with a hint of cherry and a fruity bitterness. I only picked up one bottle of this originally, but I will be back for more.

big creamy brew sporting tan coloured head & has dark redish/brown color that is slightly pink.Big aromas, chocolate, dry grains, cereal, ketchup chips. I’ve been told it reminds somebody of dry dog food, in a really descriptive way, so i’m going with that. Has a boozy taste, and simply one of the more complex brews i’ve ever had the chance of tasting. flavours start with a boozy, chocolate and creamy flavour but finishes slightly bitter. so amazing!
