Non male questa BSA, firmata dai danesi, leggermente diversa dall’impostazione classica belga, meno dolce è più luppolata, va giù che è un piacere nonostante l’abv...

Foffern (737) - Bodø, NORWAY - APR 9, 2012
Bottle. Vintage 2008. Pours a pretty hazy amber colour with an off-white head. Malty aromas of wood, dried fruit, oak, alcohol and some berries. The flavour is dominated by same things but with the addition of leather and some roast, and is slightly sour. The mouth feel is slick and has a medium bitterness. It feels like a mixture of beer styles, and it appears malty and with a fair addition of berries. An one of kind beer, but it’s hard to determine.

Bottle@ new yeats 2013 02.30. One finger foam. Hazy light brown. Plenty of grassy pine floral hoppy notes. Smooth bitter taste and finish. Hophead brew. Happy new year.

ComradeK (732) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - APR 1, 2013
330ml bottle. Pours a hazy orange amber, with a large off-white head, which lasts very well and leaves good lacing. Funky, sour notes mix with a little charry, roasty malt in the aroma. Funky sourdough up front leads into nutty, roasty malt in the mid-palate. A sour, fruity finish is tempered by some slight malt sweetness. This is a very balanced sour ale, with a strong malty backbone providing support to its sourness.

(12oz. bottle) Slightly horsey sour aroma. Perhaps some nutmeg in the aroma too. Large bubbles in head. Body is cloudy dingy light brown. Slight band-aid flavor before the hops kick in. Warming in mouth, but not throat. Grapefruit aftertaste. Mouthfeel is just a touch on the thin side. All and all interesting concoction. At $5ish/bottle was glad I tried it, but won’t be getting it again any time soon.

Pours a burnt orange with a nice white head. The aroma has honey, cherry skin, and chalky yeast. The flavor is kind of funky, but very green and chalky. There is a unballanced bitterness that lingers for a long time. Not one of Mikkel’s finest.

Nice hazy-to-cloudy amber with a frothy tan head. Aroma is citrus, malt, fresh english yeast. Flavor is sweet and sugary, almost candi-like. And yes, some light grapefruit and pine hops to compliment. supersmooth, and a little something something that might be funkiness, but I’ve had it before somewhere, and it’s also not Belgian. good, not funky.

75 cl bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. Rating this easter beer from last year to celebrate easter this year.. or well easter is almost gone - bunnys are replaced by fish on todays menu - but anyway its time to pop this must crazy labled think from Mikkeller yet. The pour is kobber golden-red with a fluffy thick head with an off white colour. Nice. The nose is citric with notes of the bret and hoppy over tones. Some perfumic yeast flavours and som green grass. The taste is not as massive as usually seen with Mikkeller beers. The palate is rather watery with a finish that are smooth and light bitter. The taste is freshwith the aliveness the bret adds. I guess it would be quite a good choice to serve to an traditional easter lunch with herrings, eggs, salmon and stuff like that.
