Bottled from biernavigatie.nl for the insane price of 15 euro’s a bottle. Dark orange colored, off-white head. Very sweet nose, definitely Sauternes, orange, just a little bit of brett shining through. Again sweet flavor, but the bitterness of the base beer is struggling to get through, resulting in some weird intermediate dryness, after which both Sauternes sweetness and beer bitterness go their own way. I just love both Sauternes wine and Mikkeller’s sours, but the combination just doesn’t add up. Still, i considered it to be good enough to finish the bottle.

Woody and mildly sweet aroma. Nice funk on the taste without being too tart. Very interesting and glad to try but won't have again ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a quite clear copper with a thin off white head. Aroma is funky, wood, citrus, grapes, fruity esters and some sweetness. Flavour is grapes, funky wood, oak, faint alcohol, mild sweetness, and kinda yeasty/bready. Really smooth for a funky high abv beer!

Tap at the Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Poured a hazy reddish medium amber with a thin white head and some broken lace. The aroma is vinous yeasty slight sour vinegar and citrus fruit. The flavour is vinous light acid light sweet with a light crisp clean vinous palate. Medium bodied with flat carbonation. This beer is all about the Sauternes but not in a bad way. Yes, the wine tends to dominate but everything is nicely balanced. It’s like the wine world meets the beer world and they seem to get on pretty well!

Bottle. Pours a poop infested brown with a light brown to off white head. Aroma is a nice funky sour with marginal wine notes. Taste is cinnamon, sweet malt, acetic sour and followed with an off putting formaldehyde thing going on. The taste is borderline undrinkable with the back of the throat taste. I’ve not experienced this wine before so I can’t say that this isn’t a product of the noble rot.

Tasted at the Triple Rock Sour and Barrel Aged Fest on 2/10/2013.This wild ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 750ml bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, oak, grapes and wood. A medium bodied wild ale. The malts are fruity and sweet with some very definite grape character. The hops are herbal and earthy. Somewhat sweet, with a touch of wood and oak, the wine barrel aspect really shows up here, Nicely balanced. Good carbonation. Overall a touch funky, sauterne and sweet. Very drinkable. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean an smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
