UPDATED: OCT 30, 2014 11.2 oz bottle from State Line poured into a snifter. 9.4% ABV. Hazy dark brown with some beige bubbles/ring, no head. Aromas of dark fruit, caramel, toffee. Fairly sweet barleywine-ish aroma. Tastes of light caramel and toffee, dark fruit and raisins. Kind of bland. Thin body with a dry and warm finish. Very low carbonation. Watery mouthfeel. Don’t really get any sour or tartness out of this so maybe this bottle was sitting on the shelf for awhile and those flavors faded. Or just a bad bottle. More of a poorly done barleywine thing going on. Couldn’t finish this.

Keg at Brewdog Birmingham; cloudy amber pour with a thin off white head, vinous grape aroma, taste has surprising amount of malt action along with some underlying grape, a hint of acidity, not much sour action, some orange.

Third from the brewdog bar, sheffield. Hazy rose/orange ale. Smells very sour, almost like a lambic. Taste is not sour really, more fruity and slightly bitter. Slightly oily with a medium body and not much carb.

Bottle, 355ml. Hazy reddish maple with a minimal frothy tan head. Sour, earthy aroma with hints of dry fruits, alcohol and sour cherries. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Mild sourness with a subtle astringnecy and an earthy alcohol bitter finish. Unusual, even for a sour ale, but very pleasant.

supposedly more funk on tap, but i had a bottle. while quite good it was more sweet, oaky, and malt dominated than i’d been lead to beleive. a little tart barnyard underneath. smooth at nearly 10%...a sessionable strong beer."
