3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
A nice sour ale from one of the globe’s most adventurous brewers. Inconsistent they may be, but never dull. Cloudy bronze with a generous head. Inviting aroma of sour cherries, pineapple, brett and wheat-sheaf. Fizzy palate, thin to medium body. Big burst of flavour up-front but it falls away a little in the mid-palate. Fairly sweet but balanced by some mouth-watering fruity acids. Spicy finish and some alcoholic warmth. Perhaps a bit too high in alcohol for the style but overall a very decent package. Not a million miles from Orval with its herbal overtones. (330ml bottle from Leura Cellars. BB 14/3/18)

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle, served in teku glass. Hazy amber color with medium, white and medium lasting head. Very funky aroma. Bretts, overripe fruits (apples mostly), caramel, citrus. Taste is dominated by sourness with sweet and earthy notes. again, it’s another wild ale that reminds me apple compote without sugar. Low to medium carbonation, medium body. I liked it.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
330ml bottle mail order from Beer Cartel in Sydney with expiry of 9/4/20. Clear amber appearance with a medium off-white head. I gets mainly sweet and spicy fruity malts on the nose with a touch of Orval-like Brett. Flavour is initially sweet before a light funky and alcoholic dryness takes over. Palate is fullish without being overly rich.
