Bottle, 25 cl. Best looking pour I’ve seen for a while. Thick, black, dense brown cappucino head. Quite restricted aroma, roast, burnt sugar, tobacco. Taste is alcohol, coffee, slightly burnt toast, chocolate. Full-bodied, carbonation on the low side, would have preferred a bit more. Long and pleasant finish. A great beer. Worth it’s pricetag? Don’t really know.

Nip sized bottle. Poured an oily black color with brown edges and a smaller sized tan head. Chocolate, roasty, wood, lots of smokiness, and a trace of brandy. Grew on me as it opened up.

Bottle at home. Pours black with a beige/brown foamy head. Taste, roasted malt and hops, boozy furit, dark fruits. Very good.

Swaroga (1613) - Brussels, BELGIUM - MAR 18, 2015
This one has the most rounded flavor and intensive wood notes among the ones I tried from Goerge! serie. The sweetness is less cloying and the beer got more dry which is just what it needed. Thick and oily mouthfeel. Aroma is black chocolate, wood, alcohol, dried fruits and raisin. Good stuff. Flavor is the same. Warming alcohol has a good kick from the Calvados barrels. A big joy to sip it.

Bottle during RBWG. Pours black with small tan head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is roasted malt and dark chocolate. Medium mouth with nice char and roast, dark chocolate, vanilla, wood, very good.

0,33L bottle (from bierkompass.de). Pours black with small brown head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is dark chocolate, roast, some sourness, calvados. Flavor is roast, sweetness, dark chocolate, malt, calvados, some salty notes. Finish is dark chocolate and roast bitter. Overall: great brew, but not as enjoyable as bourbon and cognac BA-s.

330ml bottle (thanks martjoobolut). Pitch black color. Small size, brown head, stays. Sweet, malty, roast, dark chocolate in aroma. Intense roast, faint hops, oak acorns in taste. Roast is bit rough. Alcohol stays down. Nice one!

Poured deep dark brown with minimal head. Aroma of the calvados dominates, roast malt, dark fruit. Full body, flavour as the aroma, this isn’t as good as the base beer by any measure.

330ml bottle - thanks martjoobolut
Very pleasant roasty aroma, less aroma than the brian we had earlier, some celery salt. Also has a salty palate, otherwise full and burnt, just a touch astringent. Getting a bit of the alcohol burn fromi it. Prefer the heavier sweeter one. This has too much salty bite.
