This has to be my favorite beer of all times. WOW! Although im not a cognac fan and cognac is very present, this smells and tastes very very good. All the Goerge! series are good, but this one is just breathtaking!

UPDATED: FEB 26, 2014 Oily black colour, very thick texture. Low carbonation. Overwhelming aroma of roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, dark fruits and cognac. Very impressive, this is just perfect!

25 cl bottle courtesy of Alex. Thanks! Pours motor oil pitch black with a thin chocolate tan ring for a head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is very complex. Has dense chocolate pudding, espresso, dark roast coffee, a bit of caramel mixed in for good measure. This stuff coats the glass like motor oil, too. Very heavy and dense mouthfeel. Flavor follows the nose and has layers of complexity to it. Upfront is espresso, followed by dark chocolate pudding, more dark roast mixed in, and has a lingering finish with some smoke and a very slight touch of alcohol. The alcohol is very well hidden in this for the ABV. Overall, a fantastic brew and a great way to start off my secret Santa box. Cheers!

20-MAR-2013, draft @Mikkeller, with Erik. Black with lasting, creamy brown head. Aroma is alcohol, roaste, sweet chocolate. Taste is molases, roast, sweet chocolate, cognac, and alcohol. Very very full body, soft carbonation. Very sweet.. Best of the Georges. This is an amazing beer. Had to buy another glass. WOW. Had it not been for a little weak aroma with a little too much alcohol, this would have been a perfect 5.

Tap @ Mikkeller, Viktoriagade. Black with a lasting dark brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, wood and cognac. Flavor is very sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. Oily and smooth. Yummy. 160313

250ml ml bottle courtesy of angst. Thanks. Pours a dense opaque black color with a small brown head that soon dissipates to a fine ring. The aroma is big and bold with chocolates, molasses, dark fruits and cognac. The taste mirrors the aroma with dark bitter chocolate, chocolate liqueur, anise, raisins, dates, molasses, charcoal and bitter walnuts. The palate is thick and viscous with soft carbonation. Finishes long and dry with lingering molasses. Overall: incredible, just incredible.

Thx! For this one Kraddel // Tasted blind. 25 cl. Viscous black with some bordeaux hue in the light, quickly vanishing mocha head. Sticky molasses in the nose, alcoholic in the nose, thick licorice blended with thick mocha in the nose with a fair dose of roast. Bitter in the front, burned grounds, roast, molasses, licorice, stick mocha, turns silky with lots of enjoyable booze in the back, presumably cognac but general fine strong liquor, toasted barrel, sticky in the mouth, light burn, warming, lingering bitterness. Firm barrel aging, lovely stout that can handle this.
