330 ML bottle pours black, settled dark brown with a dark brown head. Really big looking in the glass. Impressive to look at. Nose is burnt rubber, oak, soft cherry, red wine, roasted malts. and char. Good nose as the fruit really softens the burnt rubber. Adds a bit of sweetness to it. Nice. Taste is soft cherry, oak, red wine, char, burnt rubber. Well balanced. slightly sweet but has a nice dry finish. Solid RIS that did not come out to OZ.

Dark brown viscous body with a filmy beige head. Aromas of oak, sweet malt, fruity esters, booze. Wine, barrel, chocolate, booze, oak. Complex and tasty. Cherry wine definitely makes its presence known. Rich and full bodied. Nice.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2016 January 13, 2016. Bottle, best before november 28, 2013.
Pitch black with a tiny brown head. Aroma is roasted malts with dark chocolate, licorice, caramel, oak notes, dark cherries, hints of green peppers and a touch of alcohol. Taste is sweet, roasted bitterness, boozy and a touch of tart berries. Finish is sweet caramel, prunes, bitter dark chocolate, coffee hints, burnt wood, some cherries with just a touch of acidity and booze hints. Full bodied, oily texture with a slight dry finish, soft carbonation.
Not as much berry tartness and vinous notes as I expected not a bad thing though.

33cl bottle served in a snifter. Pitch black with a massive dark brown head. Thick, oily and syrupy as all the Georges have been. This is massively refined and less sweet than I expected. No cherry in the taste but you can clearly tell the effect the barrels have had on the beer. Oaky, almost earthy but still with a good level of sweetness. Possibly the easiest drinking (everything is relative) of all the Georges I have tried with the Calvados and Bourbon still being rated higher but amongst this company it literally comes down to what you fancy on the day.
