Flaske fra vinmonopolet. Svart farge, lav til medium karbonert. En tynn beige skumrand. Føles fløyelsmyk kremete i munnen. Smaker lakris, kaffe, toast, tre og humle. Ble litt satt ut av den intense ettersmaken av bitterhumle. En anderledes men utrolig god

George Foreman knock out stout. Word. This is brilliant. Pours syrupy black with some mocha head and lacing. Aroma has coffee, pungent dark chocolate, roasted malt and a small bit of booze. Excellent balance here and some great notes on palate. Thick and slick texture, alittle syrupy. Nice bitter chocolate finish with hint of sweetness. Some vanilla as well. Enjoyed watching Stanley Cup Final at Rhino. Great game, great beer.

On tap at Grünerløkka brygghus. Black with a brown head. Aroma of roasted malt with dark chocolate, licorice, dark fruits, cocoa and hints of alcohol. Sweet and roasty with warming alcohold and a balanced bitterness. Full bodied with fairly soft carbonation. Heavy stuff, but certainly decent!

UPDATED: APR 4, 2014 20.01.2013, tap @ Mikkeller Bar:
Big brown creamy loooonglasting head. Aroma is rich and slightly sweet, dark malts, sweet licorice, roasted coffee, cocoa, caramel, grass, dark sugar, chili, dark fruits, hints of vanilla. Taste is very rich, dark roasted malts, raw licorice, slightly sour-ish coffee, cocoa, dark sugar, burnt caramel, oak, grass, hops, hints of chili. Longlasting bitterness, thick syrupu mouthfeel. Incredibly mild and balanced for the ABV. This is just pure pleasure, it can’t get much better than this unless it’s bourbon aged!

Draught at Fermentoren. Thanks to my friend Søren for providing me this imperial stout at 11 % abv. as a pint, instead of the smaller 20 cl glass ... Pitch black with a creamy, tan head. Big, roasted aroma with chocolate, caramel, coffee, licorice, dark, dried fruits and hints of honey and alcohol. Excellent. Taste is sweet. Full body with a thick feel. Finishes dry and bitter with licorice, roasted malts and vanilla. Thoroughness and large quantities is a necessary evil in beer ratings... And, oh.. I enjoyed this very much, mostly from the top of the pint. It gets a bit thick, later on...

Top class stout this, Black with tanned head, this beer packed a lot of flavour. Alcohol was hidden very well which is scary as it is over 11% abv. Would love to have this again, and sit down to give a more in depth review.
