4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black with a brown head. A thick blanket of foam built up slowly and prettily as I poured the glass. However, the head dies away to nothing after a few minutes, and Iím left with a flat glass of black liquid. The aroma is a mix of chocolate, molasses and roast, in that order of strength. Itís sweet cocoa heavy, but thereís depth and complexity hiding in the chocolate. Mild cola note. Taste starts sweet with burnt brown sugar and dark chocolate. Lots of dark malt flavor. Finish has some pleasant hop bitterness and roast. I find the term largely useless, but the beer has good balance, which is to say the flavors mix well together and nothing dominates. Never gets too sweet or too bitter. Thick feel. Big mouthful of stout. Solid imperial stout.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Capitol Beer, Sacramento. Pours dark brown with almost no head and a treacle and chocolate aroma. There is a very rich chocolate and dark molasses flavor with a slight amount of heat (chili pepper?). Strange and delicious.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
11.2oz bottle, thanks to b3shine for sharing. Very dark brown, lightly clear color. Minimal head, dots of brown lace, good thick film on the side of the glass, though. Bigger body. Kind of chewy. Lighter carbonation. Lightly dry, slick finish. Great coffee, light dark fruit aroma. Moderate bitter taste, light sweet. Solid, big imperial stout. Barrel aged versions I tried are much more smooth, complex, and chewy though.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Just a super nice imperial stout all the way around. Syrupy but not sweet. Roasty and strong coffee notes. Not too much complexity. Not much if any carbonation. Yet, good stuff. A-

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bitter dark cocoa and alcohol smelling. Thick black color with a beautiful orange tan head that actively appreciated being release from its bottle. Thick dark raw cocoa coffee flavors finishes with a walnut bitter. The bitter coats your mouth like a good cup of coffee. Delicious dark and strong.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle to taster (shared by me). Looks good; a dull, dark cola with mocha lacing. Smells of dark malt, chocolate, and bitterness with an average mouthfeel. Good, not great.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Was really impressed by this one. Maybe my favorite Mikkeller iíve had. POured a very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma was lots of smoke, fudge and deep roasted malts. Flavor was similar, very smokey, bittering hops and dark burnt roast. Reminded me of a slightly less aggressive expedition.
