Day 19 of Julepakkekalender from Mikkeller. Bottled.

Aroma: Dark chocolate. Ginger. Slight roast coffee beans. Caramel.
Appearance: Pours a tar colour, with an almost non-existent caramel head.
Taste: Treacle, with a bitter hit of coffee.
Palate: Sweet upfront, with a big hit of bitterness. Very oily mouthfeel. Full body. Barely any carbonation.
Overall: Not my kind of thing at all. Very sickly sweet, with a big bitter kick to it. Iím a fan of blonde ales, and this hasnít convinced me to change that any time soon.

Black, glints of warm brown at the edges, 1mm of medium-brown, medium-fine head that reduces to a film. Aroma is cold-pressed coffee syrup, hazelnut, brown sugar, candy, touch of pear and chili. Body is thick-medium-thick, syrupy, somewhat oily, light carbonation, medium-light burn. Flavor is huge hazelnut sugar syrup, butterscotch, cold-pressed coffee, some sap and considerable candy. Delicious!!!!

Pours very dark brown color with 2 finger, beige and short-lasting head. Very complex aroma of coffee, malts, dark chocolate, cocoa, a bit of vanilla, cherry and dried plums. Strange salty note in taste but itís interesting. Quite high bitterness. Smooth, oily mouthfeel. One of best beers Iíve ever had.
