0,25l bottle as gift from Denmark. Opaque, black color with medium, creamy, dark brown head, which disappears quickly. Sweet, alcoholly odor followed by roasty, smoked malt flavours. The aroma is incredibly smoky and roasty. At the beginning itís sweet and caramelly, but after the firs impressions itís dry and tastes like a roast pork. Itís definitelly made with a lot of smoked malt, which causes this meet flavour. It must had a lot of chocolate malt too which makes the color so black, but it doesnít make the beer sour and bitter. Alcohol and honey flavours also appears. Dry, intensive and complex taste, nothing can dominate, but all the three basic flavours (sweet, sour, bitter) appears. Full bodied with oily texture and light carbonation. Roast pork finish. Itís an interesting beer. Surprisingly complex, incredibly oily and full bodied. This beer is dominated by the malty flavours, and from this view itís the opposite of the Mikkeller Black Hole, which is a "hoppy imperial stout". Itís a concentrated beer, 25cl is totally enough. The alcohol content isnít too high, and it canít be felt as dominant in the aroma. The texture, the body, and the malty flavours make this beer this rich and concentrated.

Willrunforbeer busting out four variants ! Thanks Brian! The viscosity of this stout is very oily and also shows the slickness on the palate. Aroma shows me chocolate cake batter, dark fruit and notes of sherry.

Flavor is pretty much spot on what I just smelled. Fuller body with a soft carbonation level. Overall to be short, a very nice base imperial stout. On to the variants!

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel Florentin. Thanks Stas and Max. Black with a dark brown head. Woodsy aroma, also concentrated soy, a little phenol, dark red wine and nutmeg. Tastes like wine and nutmeg. Deep, sweet woodsy and fig-like aftertaste, full-bodied, nutmeg, wood and fig finish. Awesome.

Bottle. Very dark brown - almost black, small and mostly diminishing dark brown head. Moderate to full, malty and lightly sweetish - sweetish aroma, some caramel, roasted malt and light coffee, light dark fruits and faint vinous notes, faint alcohol. Body is medium to full, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, faint caramel and some roasted malt and light coffee, light alcohol. Finish is average to long, malty and lightly sweetish, some roasted malt and light coffee, light - some hoppyness and some alcohol. Really nice fruity/vinous aroma - flavor/finish lack the fruitiness. Aroma and flavor are not in balance. Way too much alcohol in the finish.

Drank from a bottle. A very good stout, an excellent beer! The taste has some chocolate, coffee and the kind you get from those whisky barrels.

A black beer with a small and dark brown head. Aroma is great, coffee, liquirice, some chocolate and roastiness, nice sweetness. Taste is very intensive, liquirice, coffee, some salt, balanced sweetness. The great balance and enjoyable taste. Full bodied, low carbonation, not sticky, surprisingly fresh. This is a big beer, very enjoyable.

At a tasting, many thanks, no head, opaque black color, aroma of cocoa, roasted coffee beans and dark chocolate, flavor of intense bitter sweet chocolate, with some chocolate cake and chocolate liquor with a touch of earthiness and some coffee in the back, tounge coating oily palate. Really good, would be nice to linger on this.
