4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
0,25l bottle as gift from Denmark. Opaque, black color with medium, creamy, dark brown head, which disappears quickly. Sweet, alcoholly odor followed by roasty, smoked malt flavours. The aroma is incredibly smoky and roasty. At the beginning itís sweet and caramelly, but after the firs impressions itís dry and tastes like a roast pork. Itís definitelly made with a lot of smoked malt, which causes this meet flavour. It must had a lot of chocolate malt too which makes the color so black, but it doesnít make the beer sour and bitter. Alcohol and honey flavours also appears. Dry, intensive and complex taste, nothing can dominate, but all the three basic flavours (sweet, sour, bitter) appears. Full bodied with oily texture and light carbonation. Roast pork finish. Itís an interesting beer. Surprisingly complex, incredibly oily and full bodied. This beer is dominated by the malty flavours, and from this view itís the opposite of the Mikkeller Black Hole, which is a "hoppy imperial stout". Itís a concentrated beer, 25cl is totally enough. The alcohol content isnít too high, and it canít be felt as dominant in the aroma. The texture, the body, and the malty flavours make this beer this rich and concentrated.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
11.2 oz bottle. Pours ink black with very little head. Aroma is fairly faint for a big imperial stout. Getting ash, coffee, wet wood, black licorice, chocolate and alcohol. Taste is better than the aroma. Very roasty and ashy with a nice sweetness to balance. Bitter coffee finish with caramel and black licorice. Thick and chewy beer that completely coats the mouth. Love the mouthfeel. Really good imperial stout but the barreled versions Iíve had were much better.

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Syrupy, motor oil pour. Thin, dark tan head. Blunted chocolate aroma. Ash. Sweet and roasty. Whisps of chocolate, caramel, a smoke. Buried dark fruit with a pleasant alcohol bite. Rich and slick. Top notch.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Saveur Biere.
Pours very dark brown, with a pleasant and quite thick praline colored head.
Aroma: espresso (truckload), licorice, some very subtle ashy and earthy notes.
Taste: moderately sweet, with a strong cappuccino base paired with some milk chocolate and a light alcohol sting. Taste is very straightforward and robust. Finish brings even more cappuccino and a touch of pleasant earthiness.
This is the least complex, and my least favorite of the Mikkeller stouts.
It lacks the intensity of Black Hole or the sheer power of Black.
Not to say that itís a bad beer! Not even close...but something is missing.
Still Itís a straight-laced, well-made imperial stout, true to the tradition.
Iíd really like to try the BA version. I bet a that a fine barrel would give it an íedgeí itís currently lacking.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted chocolate, caramel, tobacco and alcohol aroma. Heavy sweet toasted dark chocolate malt flavor with a heavy dark sweet and small alcohol bite finish of long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Smell is chocolate, coffee, there is a milky, oily feel, the look is black oil and the aftertaste is a strong bitter coffee, roasted malt taste! Awesome beer! You donít even catch the 12% ABV because of the complex flavors, but you do feel it once you take that last sip!

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Lady, this IS an imperial Stout. Poured at a good temperature with a nice, thick, slightly creamy, brown head that settles after a bit and a little lace. Color is an opaque brown black. Aroma is a little subdued and has roast, malt , earth, leather, dark ripe fruit. Flavorís like nose, tang is in front, bitter right behind and dominating, then some sweet. Body is velvety and perfect carbonation. Finish is like flavor, very long, has a bit of an off taste, and only a hint of alcohol. Monster of a beer.
