0,25l bottle as gift from Denmark. Opaque, black color with medium, creamy, dark brown head, which disappears quickly. Sweet, alcoholly odor followed by roasty, smoked malt flavours. The aroma is incredibly smoky and roasty. At the beginning itís sweet and caramelly, but after the firs impressions itís dry and tastes like a roast pork. Itís definitelly made with a lot of smoked malt, which causes this meet flavour. It must had a lot of chocolate malt too which makes the color so black, but it doesnít make the beer sour and bitter. Alcohol and honey flavours also appears. Dry, intensive and complex taste, nothing can dominate, but all the three basic flavours (sweet, sour, bitter) appears. Full bodied with oily texture and light carbonation. Roast pork finish. Itís an interesting beer. Surprisingly complex, incredibly oily and full bodied. This beer is dominated by the malty flavours, and from this view itís the opposite of the Mikkeller Black Hole, which is a "hoppy imperial stout". Itís a concentrated beer, 25cl is totally enough. The alcohol content isnít too high, and it canít be felt as dominant in the aroma. The texture, the body, and the malty flavours make this beer this rich and concentrated.

One of the thickest beers Iíve tasted - so viscous you feel you could turn it upside down and it would just slowly ooze down the glass. Nearly black and a lovely caramel coloured head, which sadly lasts less than a minute. Aroma of dark malts, some vanilla and I agree with other reviewers that the booze gives it something resembling whisky. Tastes of coffee, some vanilla again, salt and, when you hold it in your mouth for long enough, red and dark fruits. Lingering dark chocolate bitterness with a tough of tar. By George!

Beer #5 of 13 in blind tasting.
I donít think I even knew this beer existed before the tasting. Up to this point, this poured the thickest. This was the strongest hopped beer (for the whole tasting), very piney. I felt the hops turned the beer minerally and metallic.
In the aggregate, this fell right at average.

Aroma is a complex mix of dark malts, coffee, chocolate and fruit. The flavor is coffee, dark malts, dark fruit, berries/fruit, dark chocolate and a bitter/acidic finish.

Black oily beer with only a little brown head. Aroma has coffee beans, cocoa nibs, liqueur, brown sugar, licorice and alcohol. Flavor has brown sugar, wood, coffee, coffee beans, cocoa nibs, roasted malts, liqueur and licorice. Palate is full and soft with bitterness. Finish has quite strong and long bitterness with some alcohol. Aftertaste is sweet, licoricy, roasted and salty with some alcohol. Too much of the coffee bean / cocoa nibs taste for me, does not come out enjoyable, but quite harsh.

Tap at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 12th February 15. Dark, rich and oily looking stout, aroma is full on, high quality coffee, some chocolate. Taste is intense coffee, slight vanilla, caramel, very well balanced. Loads of coffee, balanced in harmony with hops and the sweetness on the malt. Lovely impy
