0,25l bottle as gift from Denmark. Opaque, black color with medium, creamy, dark brown head, which disappears quickly. Sweet, alcoholly odor followed by roasty, smoked malt flavours. The aroma is incredibly smoky and roasty. At the beginning it’s sweet and caramelly, but after the firs impressions it’s dry and tastes like a roast pork. It’s definitelly made with a lot of smoked malt, which causes this meet flavour. It must had a lot of chocolate malt too which makes the color so black, but it doesn’t make the beer sour and bitter. Alcohol and honey flavours also appears. Dry, intensive and complex taste, nothing can dominate, but all the three basic flavours (sweet, sour, bitter) appears. Full bodied with oily texture and light carbonation. Roast pork finish. It’s an interesting beer. Surprisingly complex, incredibly oily and full bodied. This beer is dominated by the malty flavours, and from this view it’s the opposite of the Mikkeller Black Hole, which is a "hoppy imperial stout". It’s a concentrated beer, 25cl is totally enough. The alcohol content isn’t too high, and it can’t be felt as dominant in the aroma. The texture, the body, and the malty flavours make this beer this rich and concentrated.

Black with brown head. aroma is coffee, rye bread, licorice. Taste is very licorice, very good balance between coffee, and quite weak roastiness, quite earthy, and some faint leather, wood and smoke inputs, alcohol is completely hidden, only complaint is that carbonation was a bit high, this is super solid and really well made and incredibly balanced out.

The tagline is actually correct, this beer gives you a punch in the face. A strong hit of dark roasted malt and imperial stoutness. Amazing.

pours thick oily very dark brown, if not black, with a small yet reviving dark crema, some lacing. burnt malts, burnt hazelnuts, stovetop italian espresso coffee - almost like tasting the crema only, licorice, spices, pine, dry molasses. moderate carboantion, medium to full body - oily, yet never sticky, medium long to long bitter coffee-piney finish. big and warming yet a bit harsh. still.. good stuff. can’t wait to try BA declensions.

Bottle from Tipples. Pours pitch black with a super creamy dark brown head that lightens up as it grows. Aroma of lots of chocolate sauce, a hint of anise, and mild roastiness. Flavor is a massive hit of bittersweet chocolate sauce, a good bit of bitter roast to balance, a little smoke, and a slight twinge of anise. Huge thick viscous mouthfeel, low to medium carbonation, sticky. This is one of the best non-BA stouts I have had. Awesome stuff.

Golosissima e dall’aroma ricco e intrigante. Gusto intenso e complesso, di caffé, cioccolato e melassa, consistensa densa e oleosa, note di frutta scura e sfondo dolce e amabilmente tostato. Divina!! Grado alcolico solo a posteriori.

Tap at Mikkeller BKK beginning of Feb. One big black bold imperial stout. Has everything you want from the style and a bit of a kick more. Smooth for what it is. Lovely brew, especially paired with a torte of some of the finest chocolate in the world from Vietnam!
