UPDATED: JUL 4, 2016 Extrem dickes, öliges Imperial Stout.Erdig, malzig, schokoladig, Kaffee. Auch viel Lakritze im Geschmack. Viele Röstaromen. Alkohol trotz der 12% nicht übermäßig zu schmecken. Sehr gut.

Bottle, 33cL. Home. A pitch black beer with no head ; rare brown bubbles on the glass. Roast, black chocolate, coffee, wood, whisky, light herb, dried fruits. Very intense aromatic spectrum. Medium sweet, round, light warming background ; nice balance with medium dry bitterness. Elegant body, light creamy texture, flat, bitter>sweet chocolate woody warming lasting finish. Overall, truely delicious beer !!! Average look, intense complex characters ; great story ; good palate ; would have loved more texture.

glennmastrange (2621) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - MAY 3, 2016
Bottle. Heavy dark chocolate, molasses, and toasted for the malt, moderate aromas of resin and herbs for the hops, and earth for the yeast, with notes of burnt, vanilla and licorice. Head is small, wispy, brown, with a ring of lacing and good legs and is almost fully diminishing. Color is black. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes moderately sweetand harshly bitter. Palate is full, syrupy with a soft carbonation and a sticky and lightly alcoholic finish. 16 Super thick, super rich Imperial Stout, which hides the 12.12% well. Nice to sip it like Fernet Branca.

Small tan bead of head around the glass. Looks like coffee that has set on the burner all day. Black as onyx. Smells boozy as hell with notes of chocolate and leather. Good astringency on the tongue with a super thick mouthfeel. This is right there with ToØl's Goliat, Evil Twin's Imperial Biscotti Break and probably better than Mikkeller's breakfast beers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

hackobock (3291) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAR 29, 2016
March 29, 2016. Bottle, best before April 28, 2024.
Black with a small, lasting, brown head. Aroma is inky and roasted with ash, cocoa, hints of coffee, some soy and salty licorice, sweet notes in the background of dark berries and toffee. Taste is medium sweet but dominated by a quite intense bitter roastiness. Finish is sweet blackberries and toffee, salty licorice and soy notes, dry bitter dark chocolate, roasted coffee. Medium to full bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation.
Too heavy on the roast and salty notes.

Bottle 330 ml. Black color, like Norwegian oil, weak very dark brown foam. Aroma: burnt, roasted, coffee, dark chocolate, brandy, molasses and licorice, caramel, prunes and light smoke. Taste powerful: bitter-sweet dark chocolate with coffee and cognac, port wine, burnt crust pie with dried fruit, liquorice, bitter hop and burnt finish. Great.

Foffern (1623) - Bodø, NORWAY - FEB 27, 2016
Bottle at Piccadilly, Bodø. Pours a black color with nearly no head, just some brown rings on top. Complex aroma of coffee beans, leather, dark chocolate, herbs, rubber and tar. Has a rich flavor with lots of coffee beans, ash and dark chocolate. Very roasted and a bit unbalanced. Incredibly rich mouth feel, full-bodied and has a medium to heavy bitterness. Compared to the explosive flavor the aroma is a little careful. A very rich and complex imperial stout. This will be better with cellaring.
