Big, black, strong, and oily. This is a beautiful beer and there is no other way to say it. This is a whopper of a stout and there is not a bad thing I can say about it.

Bottle bought at "Holte Vin Lager" in Copenhagen in May 2011 opened today, a year and a month later! Aroma: Soy, coffee, dark chocolate, licorice, roasted malt, brown sugar. Appearance: Black, deep black body which oily sticks to the glass. A dark brown, long lasting head. Taste: Dark chocolate, chinese soy, roasted malt, hops, brown sugar.

Tap at Mikkeller and Beer Festival 2010. Pours a deep deep black colour with brown head. Aroma is unbelievable, lots of coffee, roast, smoke, soy, vanilla, chocolate. Taste is even better, such a deep flavor, probably the best imperial stout I have ever had.

Oh this is just my favorite beer. Very big and strong. Lots of roasted malt. Pours black. Almost no foam. Tasty. You can feel the abv but you think its less than it actually is and just notice when you are ordering the next one and see two bartenders. I dont know if it being a 250 cc bottle is a good or bad thing.

My #200 rating! 0.25l bottle. Pours a beautiful thick jet-black body with a small tanned bubbly head. Nose is absofruitly beautiful. Lots of wood, vanilla, roast, dark chocolate, salty licorice, cherries and strong espresso. Full-bodied and low carbonation. Tastes even better. Tingles down the throat in a deep, dark roasted sensation, thick as cream with flavors from heaven. Really longlasting bitter chocolate sticking to the tongue. My god this is good! Hint of raspberries, dried fruits, dark wood and cigar. Amazing, and for me this is almost overwhelmingly nice!

My favourite beer so far. This beer has everything. The aroma is just beautiful and the taste meets the expectations of the aroma. Well balanced and a perfect desert after a traditional Norwegian meal (Kompe, salty meat and meaty home made sausseges)

A wonderfiul imperial with molasses notes and complexity that improves with the temperature warming. Marvelous wonderful beer

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2013 Holy crap ! This beer is going to take a long time to finish. Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours jet black with almost no head, almost glugs out of the bottle. A few tan coloured bubbles but that’s it which is to be expected with such a high ABV. Aromas of liquorice, soy sauce and coffee. The soy sauce is very prominant. Flavours of very dark chocolate, soy sauce, liquorice, anise. Almost a sweet and sour flavour to this brew. This beer is supremely intense. Well worth the price tag

Black beer, as so many stouts are. Head was really dark brown, and if I did not see wrong it had little bit red as colour. Too bad that the head disappeared so quickly, it would have like to examine longer this quite extraordinary foam. There is not lot of smell other than malts and sweetness, but I cannot say same about taste. What an aroma bomb. Liquid is gooey. There’s coffee, caramel, toast, roast, hay, cocoa and even drops. I really, really like this.

Pours a motor oil black. Head is darker than most stouts! Aroma has molasses, raisins, lots of toasted malt, bitter chocolate, and coffee. Flavor is very roasted, some bitter chocolate, some nice hops, very dark roasted coffee and the mouthfeel is amazing. Thick and delicious.
