Tap. Clear yellow with large white head that retreats after a while. Aroma is leather, barnyard, wet grass, citrus, wheat. Taste is medium sweet and light+ bitter. Good filling mouthfeel. Medium body, oily textue, prickling carbonation. Light dry and bitter finish with lingering brett notes.

JEK69 (396) - FRANCE - MAR 19, 2013
It pours crystal clear gold with a huge white foam head that disappears quickly. It smells pineapple, herbs and rotting fruit ... and a horse shit like phenolic off flavour that I just cannot stand. Funky? Not really. I would say "stinky" IPA? Not totally excepted ABV and amount of hops Mikkeller added in that beer. I would say High Bretty Way of doing a beer. I admit it is an uncompromising brew. But sorry that’s not good. Please stop playing funk! Rock! No Cheers

Scopey (8500) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 17, 2013
Bottle from Thistle News, Aberdeen. It pours clear golden with a medium , fluffy white head. The nose is earth, brett, orange, mango, nectarine, wheat, light spice and hay. The taste is pleasantly bitter, earth, brett, spice, pine, pithy orange, lemon, peach, melon, pear, wheat and just a touch of alcohol warmth with a bitter, citric finish. Big on the brett. Medium body and effervescent carbonation. Refreshing and good depth of flavour. Delicious!

Scrapersnbeer (1504) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 14, 2013
A wheat IPA from Mikkeller and De Proef, and what a name. The aroma is mainly brett yeast...you know, like moldy orange peel, only this time, moldy banana because of the wheat. It is very hoppy AND very sweet. One would be forgiven for thinkinh its a stronger beer than it is. Heavier whea-based body, drags a bit, and generally overwhelms the five senses, although not in a hop moster way. Sampled at Jake Melnicks, Chicago.

330ml bottle. Pours a clear pale yellow-gold colour with a foam white head leaving lots of lacing and aroma of sweet syrupy pineapple & mango plus a barnyard edge. Taste is tangy bitter citrus orange resin hop, with a straw-like note, and a lingering dry bitter finish. Creamy mouth-feel, medium bodied & medium to high carbonation. Interesting IPA.

12 oz bottle purchased at Hill Farmstead. Cap reads "9341212" which I would assume means it was bottled on December 6, 2012? Poured into a tulip glass. A - Although the bottle had a visible layer of yeast/sediment a careful pour produces a crystal clear straw yellow body. This is light lager territory. Plenty of rising carbonation. Two fingers of fluffy white foam thins down to a neat cap. Really great lacing and sticky retention. S - Papaya and grapefruit with lots of grass and a touch of malt. An interesting earthiness rounds it out. From the aroma alone I would never have guessed this has brett or wheat in it, perhaps just an odd ball hop variety and a nice bit of malts. T - Papaya, grapefruit, lemon rind, and a bit of earthy musk. Finishes dry with some pepper and spice. Very odd beer as it starts off very IPA like and then takes a turn towards a witbier. Has a wheat bite on the very end. M - Medium bodied and creamy with high carbonation. Very drinkable but a lasting spice lingers for a while. O - Can’t say I’ve ever had an IPA like this before. The brett is relatively fresh and clean now, I can’t even imagine which direction it will take with some age. As a fresh beer its a slightly hop forward witbier hybrid with some tropical and lemon notes and a nod towards the earthy side of things. Cool beans.

stravale (2424) - Near Carrick-on-Shannon, IRELAND - MAR 10, 2013
Keg @ BrewDog, Newcastle [01032013]
Light, slightly unusual yellow, clear, dense white head
Aroma - soft spicy hops, yeast ester, bit orvallish, some lemon zest, soft breet, complex
Taste of lemon zest, quite bretty, some fresh bit sour zest, sharp sour palate
Palate - medium carb and body, sharp lemon zesty bretty palate, quite smooth. Finish is light sour and particularly dry.
Overall - I preferred the aroma (7.5) a bit to the flavour (just a 7), wasn’t sure initially but got better with the drinking....maybe the bottle is better....must do a re-rate
