Bottle from Plumpjack. Wheat is the new hops? I prefer the old hops - hops - but wheat is a pretty decent hop I guess. Beautiful urine-like appearance, really a dead ringer for urine down to the bubbles and all. Mmm, pee. The aroma is decidedly non-urine like, which is good because pee doesn’t smell or taste as good as it looks. Wheaty, grassy, floral, and herbal. The flavor is nice, with a smooth wheat base, Bretty funk, and a bitter hoppy finish. Medium-bodied and crisp as a mother. Good brewski.

Poured from a 330 cc bottle. Hazy golden with generous white head and big lacing. Aroma is hops and citrus. Flavour is rich in hops, grapefruit, lemon, grass, and Brett yeast. A bretted wheat IPA turns out to be a nice combination here.

Bottle to tulip Grass, orange, grapefruit, wheat, a little resin and Brett. Hazy dark yellow with a thin frothy white head with plenty of lacing. Taste is Brett, and wheat...no surprise...some pepper and a nice bitterness.

From a 330ml bottle on 20/6/2014. Pours a clear straw with a medium fine white head. Has a distinct pleasant aroma of citrus and hops (lots of grapefruit). In the mouth, there’s grassy and bready malt, brett, and heaps of lemon and grapefruit. Features a very firm, dry, quite tart bitterness. Medium bodied with relatively lively carbonation. Doesn’t present much like a wheat beer to me - more a very hoppy saison I think. Regardless, it’s very good, which is generally par for the course for anything labelled Mikkeller.

Hazy tan body with a small white cap on top. Retention is good, lace is nil. Spicy nose, yeasty, grassy and a little funky. Light bodied with a spritely carbonation, slightly tangy, little acidic, crisp. Light yeast notes and some barnyard, faint citrus, grapefruit, black pepper and some pineapple. Dry, tangy finish, nice bite, brett laying back. Bottle from WillRunForBeer. Thanks man!

330ml brown bottle. Pale wheaty yellow pour with light haze. Creamy white foam. Nose has wheat malts, touch of floral and citrus hops. Taste is dryish, wheaty, some lemon, late funk/bretty notes. Bretty finish, again dry, crisp, a little late hops. Soft mouthfeel and creamy carbonation. I don’t have a lot of experience with bretted wheat IPAs, but this one is tasty.

Bottle. Absolutely delicious. Sort of a funky IPA or a hoppy, bretty saison. Either way, it rocked. Bretty, moderately funky and yeasty, mildly spicy. Citrusy hops. Some wheat notes. Medium mouthfeel.

maybe wheat is the new hops, but there is a whole plenty of ol’ good hops inside! it’s mainly hoppy in the aroma, but there are some hints of brettanomyces - but nicely in the background. it’s really tasty, more bitter than i thought it would be. the color is lovely - yellow and a little hazy, never seen a beer that yellow. a good one, definitely! hay, citrus, lychee, barnyard, beautifully yellow, hazy, minimal head, medium-high bitterness, medium sourness, light-medium body
