3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Aroma is of a light wheat beer with some nice floral/citrus hops, and lemon zest. Tastes like molson canadian (ick) mixed half and half with a good IPA. A very interesting combination, but not a very well executed one unfortunately.
Update: I let this one sit on my counter for an hour or so because I couldn’t bring myself to pour it out without giving the second half of the bottle another chance. I’m bumping the rating up a bit because it actually tastes a lot better when it isn’t ice cold. I would enjoy this one a bit warmer.
Not a bad one, after all!

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Ipa molto piacevole da bere, amara al punto giusto e con un carattere complesso e molto rustico, con note maltate e leggeremente speziate, buon gusto fruttato dei luppoli.

Light gold yellow. Rich short head, some lace. Citrus tart aroma, orange and peppery.Corriander? Light clove and fruit. Some leather/earthy.Soapy floral. Taste is sharp with citrus, tart almost sour wheat, lemon, coriander , spice. pepper, unripe bitter fruit finish. Good. White Belgian IPA I guess? Not my style. Ive had better of this style I don’t like much but usually don’t say that about Mikkeller stuff. Still pretty good though.

Drunk at Mikkeller in Stockholm. The best beer in the bar among the 9 we sampled.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rating #3,100. 11.2 oz bottle purchased at Lukas Liquors in Kansas City, Missouri. 9341311 (not sure how to interpret - I am guessing 93rd day of 2014) printed on bottle cap. The pour is a lightly hazed pale yellow with a frothy three inch head. Attractive splotchy lacing left behind on the glass. The aroma is earthy leather yeast, along with orange citrus and wheat grain. The Brett yeast is more pronounced as the beer warmed. The taste is sharply Brett dry leather followed close behind with the wheat grain and citrus which is more lemon lime than the orange of the nose. The Brett is sharp and lingers in the aftertaste. The palate is medium bodied with a high level of carbonation. Finish is bone dry, Brett yeast lingers. Bit heavy handed on the Brett for me, though a fun beer.

UPDATED: JUL 25, 2014 33 cl bottle. Has that Mikkeller funky beer charm foremost but you still get a touch of citrus hops and nice wheat presence. Nice funky finish. Enjoyed this one quite a bit, what do you expect from a collab from these guys?!

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
The beer pours with stately and pristine beauty to the glass. A lightly hazed and pastel lemon straw color with a crown of pillowy white foam that is slow to fall and clings to the glass leaving plenty of lace.
Nose is airy. The wheat is golden and subtly sweet grain. A bit of yeast that is powdery and silken on the nose. Instead of funky it’s more of a light dry scent and the brett is as light as a feather. There is a brilliant hop floral on this nose. Rose petals. For fruit a delicious ripe peach.
Taste is refined and demure. These flavors are all perfectly balanced and mysteriously complex. For an IPA that is rare. The malt is soft and gently sweet. The hops have the lightness of fresh rose petals. The yeast is demure and a bit sultry. The bitter on this one is perfection. It’s also gentle and somehow proper. The mouthfeel is creamy.
Rather than run roughshod over your palate like so many of today’s IPA’s this one is exquisite. It has polish and elegance. It’s a like a pretty bird that you have to stand far away to see or you might scare it away.
One of the best beers I have ever had. Cheers!
