Mikkeller’s tribute to the green gold.

Bottle BB Dec 2015 at a BYOB in Hackney. Brick red, pretty clear, small ring of white head. Aroma of toffee, toned down. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste - slight caramel, toffee, orange pith, coffee, rye, fairly bitter and astringent. I’m not a fan of this style of IPA. Reminds me of Dogfish 90 minute - if you like one you’ll like the other.

Light brown pour, cloudy, effervescent, big juicy hop aroma and flavor, like chewing hop cones, but with enough caramel malt backbone to handle it.

bottle. Light brown with small head. Sweet malty base creates an excellent balance for the resiny hop punch. Seems very accessable for non-hopheads, but full flavored as well.

On tap at BeerTemple. Slightly hazy gold amber pour with huge white head. Aroma is piney, citrusy notes, light caramel, quite malty, C-hops. Taste is bitter, not overly so but it packs a good resinous punch, light caramel notes. Palate is med-full bodied with med-light carbonation. A time machine to what a good American ipa was 5 years ago.

Tap at Milkeller Bangkok. Poured a hazy amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is light floral medicinal hop. The flavour is strong bitter with a boozy alcoholic resin hop palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Tasty and rather nice but the alcohol is starting to dominate. Feels like more than 7% to me.

Fantastic dry hop aroma, although the beer is actually sweeter on balance than I would have expected. It tastes stronger than its abv.

Fat på red lion gbg. Gammal favorit som fortfarande levererar en härlig humlebesk känsla med karamellig maltbas

Half Pint at Brewdog Edinburgh (£3.50):

Subtle & creamy initially before some citrus & pine notes plus some floral come through. Sweet malts & faint alcohol with some caramel follow. It smelt quite juicy & refreshing with some grapefruit coming through as well.
Reddish amber with a 0.25cm creamy head with some lacing on the sides & not bad retention, holding okay & covering the surface of the beer at least.
Bitter & fruity with some pine, grapefruit & floral hops. A nice sweetness with some caramel and malts & orange plus citrus flavours & faint alcohol.
Smooth & medium bodied with medium carbonation too. Hints of alcohol throughout but this didn’t take anything away from the drink & it was still an easy on to get through, with some nice creamy bursts in places & a decent balance overall.

Another excellent beer from Mikkeller, it’s not often the fail to deliver but this one was particularly good with a great aroma matched by the taste with plenty of hops present & a good balance throughout. A very nice beer for a hot summer evening, & it’s not often I get to say that in Scotland.

Really good. First beer from this brewery, but I’m impressed. Nice copper color, good taste, some citrus and bitter finish. Excellent one.

Pours amber with a tan head. Aroma has grass, a bit of pine and caramel. Taste is very balanced, there is grass from the hops, but also caramel and coffee. Overall another great beer from Mikkeller.
