Mikkeller’s tribute to the green gold.

Bottle from Pizza Port Bottle Shop. Pours hazy dark amber with a 4 finger clingy, ringy, foamy beige/yellow head. Aroma is light malt plus crushed cedar tendrels. Medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is pretty evergreen. A little cedar. Some grapefruit comes in the finish. It’s a pretty tasty beer.

11.2 oz. bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a moderate off-white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and laced the glass well. Very pleasant aroma of grapefruit and bready malt. The flavor begins with malt with the same bready characteristic as the aroma, followed by a wash of grapefruit hops bitterness that is more pith than fruit. Dries out a bit at the finish with a lingering bitterness in the back of throat that extends well beyond the swallow. At $5.99/bottle, while a solid beer, not something I’d look to revisit.

33 cl bottle. Murky brown color, huge thick beige head. Aroma of wet grass and scallions. Taste is extremely bitter from start to finish. True to the style, but too bitter for my taste.

bottle. Potent hop oils over cloudy/hazy IPA. Doesn’t look good; luckily smells great, even then not as HUGE as most IPA. Drinkable w/ a pleasant bitterness. Floral & fun. Expensive thou, points lost there.

Pours hazy dark brown / bronze with an off-white head. The aroma is biscuit / caramel maltiness along with some funky hops along with citrus and floralness. Medium smooth body turns resiny with lots of micro carbonation. The flavor starts with smooth grapefruit, earth and pine hoppiness. It is then joined by toasty caramel malt that gives a balance, but it is still hop forward. The finish is dry and resiny with lots of pine, pine cone, earth and grapefruit rind that coats the tongue. A rock solid fantastic IPA.

The bottle cap on this beer is printed with 02/03/12. Aroma:Sweet with the smell of freshly cut grass. A little bit of alcohol. Appearance:Fantastic head that is slow to dissipate. Amber in color. Hazy. Taste:The first taste hits hard with sweetness and hoppyness. The hops are rather subtle in flavor (but not with bitterness). Towards the midtaste, I get a little bit of peach or apricot that sticks around through the aftertaste. Palate:Nice low to medium body. Nice carbonation. A slight astringent bite that makes this beer more refreshing. Overall:This is a subtle IPA that’s very pleasant to drink. I’d drink this again.

Definitely named right. Very hoppy green taste. Tastes like what a classic double/triple IPA is like. Heavy on the hops. Malty and toasted. Excellent bitter finish. Mikkeller = Beer genius.
