4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from Greens. Deep orange pour with a big white fizzy head, lots of carbonation. Good retention. Aroma was juicy citrus fruits, big pine presence, fresh as can be. Beautiful. Lots of citrus from top to bottom, super clean all around. Oily mouthfeel with tingly carbonation. Medium bitter in the finish, smooth. Very well done. Another excellent offering from Mikkeller.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
11.2 oz. bottle. Pours a semi-transparent golden amber. Big bubbles on a 1-inch head, quickly subsiding to a patchy coating. Aroma is gloriously hoppy: pine, grassy, dank, with hints of orange -- in addition to nice caramel malts. Taste is super bitter, full of the goodness of hops. It explodes on your tongue and sparkles like a good fireworks display. Aftertaste is bitter, finish is long and somewhat dry, mouthfeel is full and oily. This is a brilliant example of an American-style IPA, and I think a lot of stateside brewers are wishing they could create such an amazing brew.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 ounce bottle thanks to Eric. Pours a dark golden color with a medium white head. A nice aggressive fresh hop citrus aroma. The flavor is similarly distinguished by a very raw hop flavor, some bitterness, light pale malt background. More bitter than fruity. Nice.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
11.2oz bottle with deyholla, thanks Derek! Pours a cloudy amber-orange colored body with a finger-width, dense and frothy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Aroma is big on the fresh, zesty citrus-lemons with some bready caramels, florals, sweet and sticky pines, and some sweeter toffees. Flavor is bitter with lots of citrus pines and florals, doughy caramel, and toffee with a light sweetness. Finishes with a medium-high bitterness that dries and leaves a lengthy aftertaste. Medium, somewhat oily body and a soft, moderate carbonation. Overall, a pretty straightforward, but tasty IPA. Lots of fresh hops made this solid.

Flavor is light sweet malt backbone with a light citrusy kick slight metallic, lemon cascade light then slight tropical fruit, esters, mango, slight simcoe hint then some cattiness, green yet clean bitterness in the end. Ok.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle from K&L. IPA #15,784 from Mikkeller - seriously, how many IPAs are these guys going to brew? The appearance of this one is really not too attractive. Pours hazy dark amber with particulate matter floating in the beer and a huge frothy khaki head. Does not look like an IPA. Is it supposed to? Is it supposed to be green...or gold? It isn’t any of those things. The aroma is very nice. Floral and citrusy hops, very European, rather herbal with sweet malt backing it up. The flavor is also pretty nice. I expected more malt, but this beer is rather hop-forward. There’s some caramel malt, and then there are the hops, very herbal and floral and almost ESB-like. Some slight grapefruit as well. The palate is rather resinous and syrupy, a little too much so for an IPA clocking in at 7% ABV. Soft carbonation. Overall, this is a pretty nice beer, tasty but a little lacking in polish.
