Mikkeller’s tribute to the green gold.

Bottle, thanks emacgee. Nose of faded hops and caramel malts--an all too familiar smell with many European "American style" IPA’s. Flavor is a little worse. Slightly astringent and messy. Some tropical fruits and sugary candies. Not a terrible drink and I can suffer through it but this needs to be consumed fresher.

On tap at CASK Pub & Kitchen. Pours a deep cloudy amber, with a big thick off white head. Aromas of citrus, orange rind, belgian yeast, and a good piney hop. Taste has a massive bitter hit up front, then lemon, orange peel, mandarin, bitey pine and grass. Fantastic beer!

Very clear deep amber coloured body with a nice copper glow and a dense, thick tan head - nice. Aroma of what else - strong hops, pineapple, pine, resin, flowers and a bit of caramel sweetness. Medium-bodied; Nice pungent hop flavour with a good resiny flavour and a piney finish, all with a very nice and pleasant sweetness. Aftertaste is very hoppy, bitter, piney and showing a touch of grapefruit. Overall, a very nice beer with a good look and long, drawn-out bitter finish. Very pleasant and well worth trying, even with the steep price tag in the states. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Liquor Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey on 21-November-2010 sampled at home in Washington on 13-March-2010 after rewarding myself for running 20 miles earlier in the evening.

Nicely bitter, resinous hop bomb. Mikkeller has a good thing going with most of his IPAs, this one is no exception.

33cl bottle. Nice amber color, good IPA-aroma, very bitter, a bit thick texture. Good IPA, but a tad too bitter and thick for me.

few caramel notes, spruce and citrus aromas. Light amber, clear with frothy head. medium sweetness, medium bitterness that lingers on the tongue. medium body, creamy in texture with average carbonation. I enjoy this beer.

Pours a dark orange, light amber color. Muted grassy hops. Could be a little dated but still a pretty well made and easily drinkable beer. Nice caramel sweetness and malt goodness. Again the hop aroma is on the grassy, hay side of the equation and the hop flavor profile is much the same. Nice balance going on here.

Sligthly hazy amber color, mediumsized white head. Fresh, green, fruity aroma: orange peel, tangerine, citrus, tropical fruit, with some cookies and caramel behind the hops. Flavour is almost like the aroma, but with some grassy and flowery notes together with tangarine and tropical fruit. Balanced, soft bitterness. Average carbonation, mediumbodied.
