Mikkeller’s tribute to the green gold.

Draught at the Blue Monk in Buffalo. Pours a cloudy orange almost red colour with small white head and beautiful lacing. Smells hoppy and sweet. Taste bitter initially with a little grapefruit. Juste awesome, love what they’re doing.

On tap at Blue Monk in Buffalo, NY. I was very impressed by this. Pours a hazy amber, and smells deeply of pine. Taste has significant honey in it. I was immediately reminded of Bells Hopslam with this one. Almost tasted like a combo IPA/Barleywine.

11.2oz bottle. Muddy deep orange pour with a large and lasting, tight bubbled off-white head. Extremely good lacing though (saves it). Aromas of orange, pine needles, tangerine, grapefruit rind, light hints of alcohol. Malt is a bit on the sweet and distracting side caramel and bready. Lightly tea like. Medium esters. Flavors of citrus, orange, tangerine. Medium bitterness, overall only a slightly bitter balance. Malt bill is a touch flabby, caramel, bready, light leather. A light lingering bitterness. A bit tea like. Some mango in the long duration. Medium esters. Slightly warming. Decently drinkable surprisingly (I generally like the malt presence on my IPA’s to be a little less forward). Surprisingly fresh half way around the world. Medium to slightly fuller bodied, medium carbonation. A good bitter bite in the finish. Tasty.
