Mikkeller’s tribute to the green gold.

12oz bottle from K&L. IPA #15,784 from Mikkeller - seriously, how many IPAs are these guys going to brew? The appearance of this one is really not too attractive. Pours hazy dark amber with particulate matter floating in the beer and a huge frothy khaki head. Does not look like an IPA. Is it supposed to? Is it supposed to be green...or gold? It isn’t any of those things. The aroma is very nice. Floral and citrusy hops, very European, rather herbal with sweet malt backing it up. The flavor is also pretty nice. I expected more malt, but this beer is rather hop-forward. There’s some caramel malt, and then there are the hops, very herbal and floral and almost ESB-like. Some slight grapefruit as well. The palate is rather resinous and syrupy, a little too much so for an IPA clocking in at 7% ABV. Soft carbonation. Overall, this is a pretty nice beer, tasty but a little lacking in polish.

On tap @ local option: pours a nice dark golden with frothy whitish head. decent retention on this one - into a snifter no less. nice floral bouquet on the nose, coupled with an earthy quality. It is of course a little bitter; flavors are floral and piney hops dominate over a creamy earthy texture, which i enjoy here. Malts settle on the backside in a nice combination, and if there is a citrus element here, well im having trouble pinpointing it, honestly.

12 oz bottle shared by deyholla’s gf. Pours a nice glowing orange amber, really good haze, touch of fire, frothy offwhite head laces small, a little soapy. Aromas are big doses of lemons, zest, florals, doughy bread and a touch of sweeter toffee. Some lemonhead, florals, and dough. A decent dryness, touch of floral bitterness. Nice, soapy, refreshing. Lighter, but tasty. Not that complex, a fairly straightforward hopping of citrusy lemon and grass, some faint fuzzy peach wins some points, but a tasty and drinkable beer for sure.

Thanks to Andrew for picking this up. Amber clear in color with a beige head. Lots of citrus pine earthy sweet aromas. Vibrant and inviting. Citrus flavors with a dry bitterness full of grapefruit. Lots of bitter juicy sweetness. Fresh and really tasty. Lots of hops in this IPA without going overboard into unbalanced. 9/4/8/4/16

Tasted from 11.2oz bottle at Lush Roscoe. Pours clear amber with a rocky off-white head that sticks around forever. The nose is sticky "green" and pine resin hops with caramel malt and bread peaking through, The flavor features the bread and caramel malt quite a bit more with the hops balancing nicely on the back with spiciness and bitterness. The body is medium and sticky with average carbonation and a long bitter but nicely balanced finish.

33cl bottle. Pours a slightly hazy but glowing amber with a tall frothy thick cream colored head. Fairly clean piney aroma, centennial probably, bit metallic though, with citrus undertones. Let this one warm up a bit... flavor upfront is piney and bitter, super smooth caramel sweetness, almost whisky like in its smoothness, very clean piney hops, with just a bit of citrus towards the finish, something lovely and floral on top, like a daisy, really super clean with medium strong bitterness. Medium light bodied, thinner glassy smooth, soft sizzling carbonation, easy drinking with just a light touch of alcohol that adds to the flavor.

Orange-amber colored pour with light tan foamy head. Aroma smells STRONGLY of bitter hops. Taste is very similar, but with a slight hint of fruit as well. Nice. Mouthfeel is ok - a bit sticky, and the high level of bitterness takes away from the drinkability a bit, but overall this is another fine IPA from Mikkeller. Would drink this one again.

Bottle shared by Sarah, thanks! Poured a clear amber gold with a near white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was full of grapefruit with some other citrus notes coming through and a sweet grain backing. Flavor was weaker citrus and grapefruit with some slightly dank pine coming through with a slight backing of sweet grain.
