Mikkeller’s tribute to the green gold.

8cl sample. Wonderful amber colour. Small head. Aroma is hoppy and laden with tropical fruits as one would expect, but also a sweet malty aroma with notes of alcohol. Flavour is rich and laden with alcohol and malts. Not as much hops as expected, but it’s also present. Fruity. Long, lingering bitter aftertaste.

Tap at Haandverkerstuene. Copper red hazy with a thin white head. Some nice lacings. Smells of sweet orange peels and grass. Taste is bitter with a slight feel of citrus. and some malts. Finish is full of hops. Some ways this has more of a double/imperial ipa feel. but also feels like an ipa. interesting

Tasted on tap at Henrik Øl & Vinstove. A good and sweet malt base punished with loads and loads of citrus hop. Pours golden/amber with moderate and golden head.

Tap @ Henrik, Bergen. Pours a thick, tan, nitro-like dense head, resting majestically above a deep, bronze body. Lovely. Nose: fresh, green hops, grass, hints of peaches and spruce. Lovely lovely. Taste is full-bodied malts and bitter, grassy hops, peaches and spruce. Smooth palate. Long-lasting bitter finish. A real top-of-the-line IPA. Three times lovely for this one. :-)

Ridiculous IPA. Flavor is booming, layered but not too complex. Extreme resin, a good helping of pine and malt, hops are thick but not too much. Medium-heavy slick mouth for an IPA, I like it a lot. Nose is similar to the flavor, but unlike the flavor it’s pretty subdued. Pretty wild burnt orange color, dark for an IPA and semi-transparent, looks great. Jesus Christ I love this brew on every level. Outstanding, maybe one of my top 5 IPAs ever.

Tap@Olympen. Nice fruity, resinous and grassy hop notes in the aroma, citrus and tropical fruits. Sadly it’s a bit overridden by sweet caramel malts. I feared this would be too sweet for my liking, and I was right. It ended fairly sweet, not refreshing and dry like I had wanted. Still good, I just prefer my IPAs to be crisper and lighter on the malts.

On tap at Olympen. Murky brown, compact hop juice. Grass, watercress, mustard, grapefruit. Packs ennough punch to make this a beer for slow sipping.

Very nice IPA. Pours a clear amber with a small lingering head lacing nicely. The aroma is malty sweet, bread and yeast, earthy. The flavor is sweet up front giving way to a citrus pine back end. The finish is quite dry, crisp and clean. Very good.

Pours a burnt orange amber color with an off white foam head. Has an aroma of citrus, with lots of pine and caramel. A big malty IPA with a sweet citrus taste and a nice hop hit. Lots of caramel lingers through the finish. Creamy mouthfeel.
