4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a murky dark apricot colour with medium-sized off-white head. Fruity-hoppy aroma with lemon, lots of grapefruit and a bit of sweet malts. Taste is full of pungent hops, grapefruit, oranges, some pine, a bit resinous. Very bitter up front and in the middle with a touch of sweetness towards the end. Leaves a lovely bitter aftertaste. Really loving this one, it’s like eating a ripe grapefruit that alternately hits you with bitterness and a bit of sweetness.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Systembolaget. Aroma is sweet and thick with some pine and grass. Taste is quite bitter and medium sweet, very well balanced. It pours a yellow, hazy, colour with a thick white foam. Mouthfeel is thick with the sweetness, rolls over the tounge with a pleasant carbonation. Great beer, balanced and enjoyable.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 33 cl bought @ Bir & Fud Bottega (Rome, Italy). Hazy intense orange, with ruby reflexes. Nice foam, thick but not long. Aroma of pineapple, leaf, some tobacco, a good piny structure. Medium body, malt not so invasive or sweet; caramel the right. Balanced malt component in the end, just a little weak maybe. Strong pineapple, grapefruit flavor. But this is bitter. So bitter. Really bitter. Listen, we’re talking about other Mikkellers like syrup or something. This is only a step down compared to american hop bombs (Stone, Port Brewing, West Coast IPA in general). Harsh, resinous, long-lasting. It dries mouth and tongue. A very surprising IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
11.2 oz. bottle. A murky rust/copper pour with a one finger-thick tan head. A slightly perfumed aroma of caramel, grapefruits, a little pineapple, and a touch of bubblegum. Crisp and medium-bodied. A little caramel and some pumpernickel bread upfront in the taste. Lots of grapefruitiness and pepper at the tail end. A bitter and drying finish that lingers. Some warming alcohol throughout. Solid.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Not what I was expecting. An okay pale ale, but nothing about this really stands out for me. The hops are pungent enough. It just lacks the crisp finish I’d want, not to mention the burst of flavor on the tongue or lasting hoppiness I’d prefer in an IPA. The flavor is lasting, but only as bitterness.

It poured a clear, dark golden color with a dense off-white head. The aroma was citrus and grapefruit. The flavor was sweet malt with a balanced, strong bitterness. Lots of hops and decently balanced.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle. Love most things by Mikkeller, and this wasn’t too too expensive, so I thought I’d give it a try. Pours a hazy copper color with a medium light tan head that stays. Smells of hints of a citrus, hops, yeast, and malt. Taste is very good, with none of the 4 aromas overpowering on taste, but instead integrating very well together. I assumed for the smell that it would have little citrus character at all, but it is fairly decent. Not an overpowering mouthfeel, but leaves a pleasant after-taste and has some stickiness to it. Another impressive Mikkeller product.
