3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
[Bottle, thanks yespr for apparently leaving this behind for the Mpls crew to try after RBSG] Pours cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma is very fruity and hoppy--it reminded me of the Stateside but a little toned down. Quite sweet, malty, a little hoppy but not out of control. Medium mouthfeel. Slightly better than Stateside, despite the aroma being a small step down.

this bottle has some age and may be why the aroma is lacking a bit. Never-the-less, nice hippy aroma without much else. The body is quite good and the flavours ends up being a bit plain with some bittering hops in the forefront and not much for real hop flavour. Has an uninteresting malt profile. Not bad by any stretch of the imagineation but not really very exciting.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2007 Thanks to Yesper for sharing. Pours a fiery reddish orangish brown. Very perfumy flloral hoppiness and a good dose of citrus. Holy citrus hops. A nearby friend said "I believe they have defined IPA" and that is very true. Killer citrusy finish. Wow is this good!

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22. Thanks, Maria! Good stuff. Pours glowing orange-amber under the light, more of a deep burnished copper when it’s set to the side. Big thick rocky white head. Nice floral, slightly grassy nose--understated by most beer geeks’ reckoning to be sure, but still very much in the American style. Medium body, nicely balanced tingly carb. Caramel and dry leaves and a bit of pine on the mid-palate, with a nice tingly herbal cling to the finish. This is a pleasure to drink.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Partly cloudy golden-copper body with a medium off-white head. Very hoppy on the nose with orange and pine-tree aroma. Crisp toasted malts with a thin layer of caramel spread are dominated by the juicy hops. Best feature is the juicy flavour bitterness of medium-high intensity. Excellent beer although I slightly prefer their similar but superior Stateside IPA which offers more in the malt department. Still this is an excellent west-coast style IPA. As Californian-influence as a skinny over-tanned Danish fake-blonde with big implants.

3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Hazy copper color with a lovely frothy head. It’s remarkable how little it has aroma if you compare it to the flavor. Aroma has some hops in it and hint of the caramel malts but it’s the flavor that really makes this beer (luckily). Great taste with some sweet alcohol coming thru with an exploding bitterness in the finish from the hops. The malts give a more deeper experience to this IPA, very well balanced!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
My Bottom Line:
Vivacious pine resins and various herbs proliferate on the tongue, producing citrusy, perfumy fruit allusions in this remarkably drinkable American-style IPA.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam laces all around the hazy amber.
-This Green Gold does not have as much of a caramel malt apport as their Stateside IPA, but there’s plenty of malt to support the hop flurry nonetheless; just not the same flavor contribution.
-This is as good as any other Mikkeller IPA I’ve had, so no surprises here; it’s juicy hop goodness.
-The long resinous hop bitterness is neither exaggerated nor restrained; a perfect middle ground for quenching purposes.
Bottle; best before 21/02/2008. Thx David!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Very nice apperance, almost orange with nice white head. Fruity and sweet flavor. Taste is also fruity with lemon distinction. I expected (and hoped for) more bitterness though.
