Mikkeller’s tribute to the green gold.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy copper color with a big white head that has fair retention and plenty of sticky lacing. The aroma is citrus, nougat, and green hops. The flavor is similar to the aroma, loads of grapefruit, caramel, pine and herbs. The palate is full and malty smooth with lively carbonation. Finishes dry, short and clean. Overall: Very IPA--but it should come in a bigger bottle.

12oz bottle poured into a Delirium snifter. The color is a mix between copper and gold. Has a nice thick, bubbly, fluffy head with amazing retention. Has a good amount of citrus hops in the aroma, along with grapefruit and tangerine. A lot more fruity notes then I was expecting. The flavors are a mix of bitter, sweet and tart. Lingers pretty long on the tongue and mouth for some time. A really enjoyable beer.

Tap @ Mikkeller. Nice copper coloured pour with a light caramel coloured head, all kinds of good looking. The aroma holds a roundhouse kick of hops, piney hops, fruity hops, slightly citric, and packing a very crispy caramel malt balance as well. The taste has the same crunchy hoppiness, lovely fruity hops, apples, pine, a stinging bitterness balanced by a delicious caramel malt backbone and your mouth is twisted a the last punches of hops bitterness in a long after taste. Very good!

Unusual sweetness and lack of bitterness (but still there’s a nice hoppiness) for an IPA. Doesn’t remind much other IPAs I’ve tried so far. Reminds some Belgian ales a bit. One of my favourite beers so far.

From a 660ml bottle on 26/9/2010. Bottle dated 11/9/2009. Pours cloudy and dark orange in colour. Has a nice fruity, apple, spicy, piney, toffee and honey aroma. Has a creamy texture, with lots of fruity and toffee sweetness, with a citrus, grapefruity finish. The bitterness is appropriately firm, though not as full on as some of the American IPAs. Another excellent beer from Mikkeller.

marcus (7301) - Sacramento, California, USA - SEP 24, 2010
Bottle from Healthy Spirits. Pours cloudy copper with a foamy heige head and a toffee aroma. There is a very tasty caramel malt flavor with a smooth hop bitterness. A really nice IPA.

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2011 660 ml bottle @ Olutravintola Pannuhuone. Rated @ 4.6.2010.
Hazy amber colour and a large ff-white head. Very IPA-like aroma with notes of strong fresh hops, citrus and caramel. Hops dominate the taste and create a hop bomb. Notes of pine needles and sweet malts too. Medium bodied, lively carbonation and a nice dry hoppy finish. Really enjoyable. 9-4-8-4-16, 4.1

330 ml bottle. BBE 22.06.2013.
Pours a deep, hazy, amber colour with a large, foamy, slightly off-white head. Aroma of very strong floral hops and caramel. Flavour of strong floral hops again, pine needles, pine and caramel. Very smooth and quite foamy mouthfeel with a finish of floral hops, caramel and some tobacco. I’m guessing this has Nelson Sauvin and Sorachi Ace at least. Still great.
