4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draught@Mikkeller bar, Copenhagen. Hazy reddish brown looks with a creamy mid sized tan head. Lookin’ good. Hops aplenty in the nose married with some sweetness and tropical fruit notes. Had a feeling this was going to be the bomb and the taste certainly didn’t disappoint. Supremely fresh flavour that struck a sublime balance and allowed the hops to shine brightly. Could chug away on this until the bleedin cows come home. An all round winner.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle poured into a tulip.
Pours a deep, clear amber with a frothy beige head that recedes very slowly to a thick cap and leaves delicate lacing along the sides.
Aroma is juicy with pithy grapefruit and some sweeter citrus notes as well. There is more than a hint of caramel and a touch of lemongrass as it warms.
The taste is bitter up front with the grapefruit taking on a much more abrasive character. The malts are present but overshadowed by the hop blast. The finish is drier than I was expecting.
The mouthfeel is dry and bitter, but still with a bit of sugary sweetness lingering as well.
This is a solid IPA that’s not exactly balanced as the hops are definitely abrasive and bitter. Still, Mikkel knowns his way around IPAs.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From tap@Håndverkerstuene, Oslo. Cloudy reddish amber body. A finger of coarse blond foam on top. Zesty and resinous hop aroma, and a whiff of subdued semi-dry malts. Taste has a medium to heavy bitterness. Oily, with citrus and tropical notes. Strong, fairly sweet malty backbone. More than medium full. Lasting hop bitter ending. A rock solid IPA.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Murky light brown with a big tanned head. Very green flavours, thogh not raw or unpolished in any way. Light fruitiness battling grass and flowers. Good body, with biscuits and caramel with a perfect, balancing light sweetness.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
8cl sample. Wonderful amber colour. Small head. Aroma is hoppy and laden with tropical fruits as one would expect, but also a sweet malty aroma with notes of alcohol. Flavour is rich and laden with alcohol and malts. Not as much hops as expected, but it’s also present. Fruity. Long, lingering bitter aftertaste.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at Haandverkerstuene. Copper red hazy with a thin white head. Some nice lacings. Smells of sweet orange peels and grass. Taste is bitter with a slight feel of citrus. and some malts. Finish is full of hops. Some ways this has more of a double/imperial ipa feel. but also feels like an ipa. interesting

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap @ Henrik, Bergen. Pours a thick, tan, nitro-like dense head, resting majestically above a deep, bronze body. Lovely. Nose: fresh, green hops, grass, hints of peaches and spruce. Lovely lovely. Taste is full-bodied malts and bitter, grassy hops, peaches and spruce. Smooth palate. Long-lasting bitter finish. A real top-of-the-line IPA. Three times lovely for this one. :-)

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Ridiculous IPA. Flavor is booming, layered but not too complex. Extreme resin, a good helping of pine and malt, hops are thick but not too much. Medium-heavy slick mouth for an IPA, I like it a lot. Nose is similar to the flavor, but unlike the flavor it’s pretty subdued. Pretty wild burnt orange color, dark for an IPA and semi-transparent, looks great. Jesus Christ I love this brew on every level. Outstanding, maybe one of my top 5 IPAs ever.
