Mikkeller’s tribute to the green gold.

Finale lungo, molto amaro e luppolato. Intensa e complessa, raccomandata solo a chi piace una birra amara.

Murky orange with light brown head. Excellent lacing. Fresh dry hopped aroma along with some roasted malts. Bitter and light sweet with plenty of dry hop aroma released in the mouth. Full bodied. Leaves a long lasting bitter impression. Tap@Mikkeller.

Bottle (66cl) from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. BB 11.9.2011. Wonderful-looking beer. Huge offwhite head, slowly cracking up with large bubbles, leaving lots of lacing. Dark amber colour, clear at first, some yeast haziness at final pouring. Strong, fat hoppy nose with spicy caramel malt. In the mouth the spices become more distinct; licorice, coriander seed - it’s on the verge of being too much, but it ends up on the right side. Great balance. Full bodied, slick, average carbonation. Never-ending hoppy bitterness with a good deal of sweetness. Top notch.

Bottled 33cl. Courtesy of kappldav123. Shared it with my grandma. She really loved the beer. Fantastic aroma of peach, citrusy hops and quince. Very nice prominent bitterness. Deeply enjoyable. She didn’t leave me enough to write a proper rating :-( Thanks a lot kappldav123!

On tap @ Mikkeller Bar, Copenhagen. Pours unclear dark brown with a small tanned head. Fresh hoppy aroma, fruity and grassy, this counts for the tasting department as well, solid bitterness. This beer is not balanced, just a hoppy worship

Big hoppy biscuity nose. Full bodied with a biscuity caramel start and big citrus and pine finish. As it warms it becomes a little leaden, but still a lovely beer, even at super premium prices. Thanks dancing volcano!

Bottle. Had this several times. Cant figure out why I never rated it! Its hazy amber with a creamy dense forever lasting off white head. The aroma is heavy piney, peach, grass, caramel and some biscuit. The flavour is grapefruity, heavy piney, grass, citrus, peach and spruce. A good caramel background is backing up very nicely. Awesome grassy IPA.
