COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mikkeller’s tribute to the green gold.

Not what I was expecting. An okay pale ale, but nothing about this really stands out for me. The hops are pungent enough. It just lacks the crisp finish I’d want, not to mention the burst of flavor on the tongue or lasting hoppiness I’d prefer in an IPA. The flavor is lasting, but only as bitterness.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, best before 11/3/2016. Pours lightly hazy deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, passion fruit, lemon/orange peel, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, passion fruit, lemon/orange peel, pine, caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, passion fruit, lemon/orange rind, pine, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and minimal lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness, that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and moderate sticky/resinous/creamy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent IPA! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink. This still tasted really fresh to me for being 6 months old, assuming that the dating is one year out. A very enjoyable offering.

On tap at Craft Room, Zagreb. Poured a misty reddish amber body with a lasting off white head. Creamy aroma, peach, herbal notes, caramel, toast. Taste... citric, peachy notes, juicy, tasty, some notes of orange too. Medium herbal bitterness. Enjoyable, juicy IPA, the kind I might actually love the most. Not the best beer like that, perhaps, but world class and I’d go for it again.

DraftDodger (882) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 12, 2016
Copenhagen 12/5 2016. 33 cl bottle at restaurant Madklubben. Very green label with eager hands grabbing for hops. Pours hazy golden yellow with massive white head. Settles as thick creamy crown of foam. Lots of lacing. Aroma is sweet and of exotic fruit like pineapple, passion fruit and peach. Notes of citrus and grape fruit. Soft carbonation and slightly thick palate. Taste has subdued sweetness and pronounced longlasting bitterness. Dry finish. Served a bit too chilly. But a fine Cornucopia of fruit with bitter skid marks.

Draft. Orange with no head. Smells like the spring mixed with burnt leafs and some tropical fruits. Really fresh hop smell and taste, really mild and easy to drink. Floral. Aftertaste is light and sweet. Refreshing

Big aromas of grapefruit hops. Pours a dark cloudy orange with a big rocky white head with lots of lacing. Flavors of grapefruit and leather. Nice sour finish with an oily mouthfeel. Hold together very well. Nice IPA.
