Mikkeller’s tribute to the green gold.

Pours a cloudy amber with a big frothy, foamy beige head. Aroma contains caramel malts, sugar, grapefruit, cherry, floral hops, and soft pine. Its a very nice blend. The taste doesn’t really have much of that caramel malt, although its still present. Instead, the floral notes and pine are much more apparent. It has a pretty good hoppy bite. But since the floral hops are so abundant, this feels like a "cleaner" or more fresh IPA. Aftertaste is this combination of hops and pine. Medium in body with a sticky texture. This one is quite different for this style and its good. Although I think I enjoy your more standard versions more.

33cl bottle from our monopoly. Amber golden with a creamy, off-white head. Strong nose with citrus fruits. Full bodied for the style and has lots of malt and citrus with distinct bitterness. Really good all the way.

From a 500ml can with BBD of 20/5/17. Hop forward (grapefruit/orange citrus, pine needles) and bitter with a decent biscuity malt foundation and easy drinkability (beware the ABV). It pours translucent deep amber with a large dense off-white head that settles slowly to a stable crown. Another nice one from Mikkeller who deserve their esteemed reputation.

7%ABV. IPA. Tapped out a deep amber brown. 21ºSRM. Nose has nice pineapple ripeness with a sweet estery aroma. There are bright citrus aromas of lemon zest and grapefruit peel. There are fresh orange scents as well. Piney aromas are also apparent. There is a clean sweet aroma of grain as well. Mouthfeel is soapy and almost heavy. Carbonation is pronounced and well-matched against the malty body bearing nutty flavors of pecans, raw almonds, and buttery macadamia. The sweet malty flavors suggest browned wheat toast, roasted cracked barley and even honeyed puffed cereal. There are some nice rich toffee flavors as well. The finish is medium length starting with an aggressive hyssop bitter that slides slowly into a more herbaceous palate suggesting raw spinach and then a slightly floral-citrus aftertaste. Overall a very full-bodied and well executed ale with a nod to all the hop heads out there. Plenty of aroma and bitter hops to explore in this one. Goes on Favorites List!

Pours haze, light brown color, with foamy stable white head. Aroma: prevails hop aroma of american hops, with character of tropical fruits like melon, pineapple, mango, papaya etc. and pine, with hint of malty aroma in the background. Flavor have very strong hop note, with character of tropical fruits, citrus and pine. Malt flavor, with character of biscuit, is in second plan, but still as main pillar of a backbone. Hop bitterness is high, also hop flavor, and both are lingering long in aftertaste. finish is slightly dry. Body is medium light, texture is smooth, carbonation is medium. Perfect European, or better - Belgian example of American IPA.

Solid but unexciting - a bit two dimensional for me - not vibrant or piercing as I like it.
