COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mikkeller’s tribute to the green gold.

Draught @ Københavnske Øldage 2007 in Copenhagen. Hazy light amber color with a average fizzy off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy hoppy sweet, caramel, grapefruty. Initial flavor is moderate sweet and heavy bitter, finish flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Very nice ;o))

UPDATED: NOV 7, 2011 66 cL bottle. Pours orange with light brown head. Aroma is bitter, caramelly and fruity hops. Aroma is first a touch of bitterness and fruityness from the aroma hops followed by a soft caramel maltyness. Ends very bitter. Damn this is a good beer!

Celebrating rating #8000. Bottled. A dark amber beer with a huge orange head. The aroma is powerful of fresh hops - which I just love, it has notes of grapefruit, caramel, hay, and more. The flavor is sweet at first with notes of caramel, and a bit weak on the body, but then the hops gain in strength with notes of grass, grapefruit, lemon, pine and straw, and with the hops gaining strength the body also picks up, so it finishes off being quite powerful - the alcohol is not tasted, but felt, and the combination of alcohol and fresh hops stays in the mouth forever. Now this is a beer according to my head. I’ve also had it draft - and must admit that the times I’ve had it bottled I’ve liked it better than on draft - so far I’ve had it twice from draft and twice from bottle.

(On tap) Clear, amber golden with a creamy, off-white head. Fat aroma with strong citric notes. Quite full-bodied with lots of malt and citrus and a distinct bitterness. I’m afraid there’s a vague fustyness buried underneath - probably from the tap. 120507

Bottle. Cloudy orange coloured with an off white head. Aroma of caramel, hops. pine needles with flowery notes. The flavour starts with some caramelic malty sweetness but soon gets very hoppy with notes of pine needles. Dry hoppy finish.

Bottled. Amber colour, big white head. Aroma is big flowery hops. Flavour is flowery hops along with big sweetness and some nutty hints. A very pleasant mix indeed, but not exactly what I waited from it.

Cloudy dark amber beer, thick tan head. Softish palate, a little dry. Smooth grassy hops with a little sweet pineapple following through. Smooth caramel malt underneath. Grassy afertaste. Nice fresh IPA.

Hazy brown color; big head. The aroma shows, first, fruity hops, then some dusty caramel and finally apples (strange...). Strong body, and strong caramel flavor, with good residual sweetness, fruity and mellow, a bit resiny. Strong final. Very good but less impressive than on draught.

2009-10-09, draught at Ølbaren, Copenhagen, 9-5-8-5-17=44
Beautiful mahogany color; generous creamy head. It has a wonderful aroma, hoppy and fruity (Amarillo?), citrusy (bergamot). It has medium body strength, with a good caramel flavor, some residual sugars stick on the lips, and the fruity hops again; but the balance between sweetness and bitterness is perfect, and there is nothing to disturb here (like roasted malts or too much resins). Long final, the alcohol is gently warming the tongue. Deeply pleasant.

2007-05-11, draught at Københavnske Øldage 2007, 8-5-8-5-17=43
Hazy copper color. Nice hoppy, resiny aroma. Good malty body, not too thick, but with some sugars; powerful and aromatic hopping, citrusy. Aggressive, very well brewed, excellent.
