Mikkeller’s tribute to the green gold.

I would have guessed this as a red or amber ale by smell and appearance, and, for the first 1/2 glass, taste as well. Smell is very sweet caramel malts, xmas cake, dark fruit. Taste is same finishing with big bitterness and hints of oranges and grapefruit. Alcohol a little to separate on the finish. Good beer.

A hazy mahogany on the pour with a creamy head, this has plenty of delicious citrus on the nose with some pine as well. There is some sweet caramel and biscuit at the start, then lots of grapefruit and pine with some tropical fruit to give it a sticky bitter finish. Another fine IPA from Northern Europe.

some caramalts, weak foam head, low carbonation, rich, dominating malt notes, bitterness, quite o.k. but not my favorite one...

330 mml bottle tasted on the 20/12/2014. Pours black colour with a tiny white head. Caramel aroma with malts and pine. Taste is coffee with nuts and hops on the aftertaste. Medium body and medium carbonation. Nice IPA. Next one please!

2014/12/14 - Pours a hazy brown-amber colour with a rocky, off white head that reduces slowly and leaves moderate lacing. Aroma is pine, citrus fruit, caramel, toasted malt and nutty notes. Taste is citrus, mild pine, sweet caramel, coffee roast and nutty tones. Starts moderately sweet and ends moderately bitter. Mouthfeel is medium, with average carbonation and drying, bitter finish. Not bad, but nothing spectacular. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Simcoe & amarillo i doften. Mycket doft. Fin IPA helt enkelt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Day 3 of Julepakkekalender from Mikkeller. Bottled.

Aroma: Caramel, with a hint of coffee. A touch of malt.
Appearance: Pours a cloudy maroon colour, with little head.
Taste: Has a coffee taste upfront, followed by a roasted chestnut taste. Has a malty finish. Leaves a hoppy aftertaste on the tongue.
Palate: An upfront bitterness that lingers. Medium carbonation. A slightly oily mouthfeel. Medium body.
Overall: This is far too drinkable for a 7% beer. Perfect for a chilly Winter night!

12oz bottle, enjoyed from the mikkeller calendar @ 45F in stemware. color is a dark amber, minimal head. Nose is Simcoe and pine cones. Taste is nice. a lot of crystal malt, very sweet at the start and middle. resinous bitterness. not pushing any boundaries for complexity or mouthfeel. decent IPA

The beer pours a hazed golden copper colour with a generous rocky tan coloured head. The aroma is pine, citrus, and caramel. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is pine and light grapefruit with caramel and spices. Decent, but not earth shattering.
