Mikkeller’s tribute to the green gold.

Shared bottle @ Cardinal. Yet again Mikkeller delivers the goods. This is a rock solid IPA. And the aromas is rich of the green gold. It pours a white head and is golden in color. Medium body and tastes of citrusy hops and some sweet malts. Clean flavors. Leaves with a nice bitterness that lingers in the back of the mouth for a while. My kind of IPA.

This is just an amazing IPA. Aggressive but finely balanced with both malt sweetness and hop bite. A really great beer I can't get enough of.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2015 Very consistant beer and always good, a hop lovers dream. Massive hop aroma and fairly thick mouthfeel with low carbonation. Whenever I drink this one I think that this is a gorgeous hop soup! Expensive but fantastic.

Pour burnt apricot with a tall lingering head. Smells snappy and gritty. Full nectar with creamy effers. This is a very hop forward brew that is not sweet at all, despite is hefty malt bill. Amazing how the hop blades cut through the blubber likes it nobodies business. Leaves an aspirin burn on my mouth flesh. A mouthful of goodness.

330ml bottle. Heaven in a glass. Big thick and dense tan head. Rich amber almost copper colour and that big punchy floral and citrus hop aroma. Flavour is equal to the aroma and sits in the mouth.

Very beautiful red color, with intense cream head. Green/flower hop aroma, a little resinous, good body for the style, delicious combination of malt sweetness and strong hoppy bitterness. Very good.

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours into my Stone RIS snifter as a turbid pumpkin colored ale with ruby edges and a 3-finger off-white clingy head. Nose is great; heavy tropical fruit;l tangerine, pineapple, black pepper, resiny hops, caramel malt. Yeha, that’s a 10 for nose, and if you’re not down with that, I got two words for ya. Tastes rich, very resiny and IBU laden, with earthy tangerine, pineapple, resin, black pepper, and a huge caramel malt bill. Palate is smooth, complex, hoppy and resiny as hell, yet stays balanced. The repour gives a funky head configuration, even more IBUs and caramel malt, and a truly delicious beer. Green gold indeed (I hear that’s what Al Gore calls his penis, then goes and turns on every air conditioner in his mansion while asking the middle and lower classes to cut back and then going and attempting to take Tipper in the back door while listening to Pantera). This is the 2nd great hop bomb I’ve had this week.

Purchased at systembolaget in Uppsala sometime in the middle of April, 2011. Overall, this was a fantastic beer – one of the best IPAs I’ve had in a while. Pours with deep copper color, producing a towering and resilient white head with tight and sticky lacing. The body is impressive. The nose is hoppy, as the name suggests: florally, mildly citrusy and slightly nutty perhaps. The taste is complex as it gets: very hoppy and sweet from the start, with notes of pine, tropical fruits, malt and grass. The finish is heavily hoppy and lasting – perhaps a bit too lasting. Simply wonderful!

dark amber colour with reddish notes, huge, long lasting beige head; aroma citrussy-piney hops, and caramel;taste is dominated by citrussy hops and pine notes again, though malty-caramel sweetness can also be felt - perfect IPA;highly recommended for everyday use :)
