Pours mahogny with a little head.
Lots of cookies and slightly oily, even though it is fresh (2months after bottling) I think it could have used some more citrusy hops.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 6, 2010 Appearance is a mix of colours: Brown, red, yellow beer, hazy with a yellow head that dissapears faster than the head on Mikkeller’s beers usually does. Aroma is hops, hops and even more hops. Flowery, tobacco, caramel and malt sweetness. Flavor is flowery hops, caramel, light tobacco, other hops and a mix of malts. Very complex, excellent. Overwhelmingly hopped finish. Thick, easily creamy beer. BeerChaser0078 (456), Melbourne, Australia
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 2, 2010 Bottle. Slightly hazy deep coppery red pour with a creamy light tan head that lasts ages. Nose is very hoppy with notes of pine, passionfruit, orange, grapefruit, earth, toffee and pineapple. Flavour has more of a malt presence, including some nutty, woody, caramel notes, but the hops are still the main attraction. Thick, smooth mouthfeel, almost creamy, with moderate to low carbonation and an assertive bitter finish that lingers. A really great IPA; looks great, smells fantastic and tastes amazing. The sort of beer you don’t want to finish because then it’ll be all gone. TBone (6895), Pori, Finland

Clear dark amber color, small off-white head. Very piney and grapefruity strong nose. Medium to full bodied. Sweet malty base. Caramel, grapefruits, pine and pine needles. Quite hoppy and reasonably in balance. andersand (435), Malmö, Sweden
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Nov 29, 2009 Dark amber colour with a dense off-white head. Aroma is nice, promises a hopbomb with a basic caramell foundation. Flavour doesnt quite deliver, a bit too harsh with sharp hop bitterness and sticky caramell. Body is fizzy and rather sharp which makes it even harder to drink. A ok very american IPA. kappldav123 (1964), Markkleeberg, Germany
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Thanks to yespr and Papsoe for this one. The bottle looks simple, but good, the beer in the glass a bit darker than exspected, nice head. Starts very complex hoppy, a bit woody. Also grasy notes. Finish becomes more and more dry. Well balanced hoppy-grasy finish, quite drinkable. Good one! lassem (347), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Bottle at home from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. It has been a long time and this green bastard has been asked for over and over again. So nice that Mikkeller decided to brew it again. Thanx. The pour (In a Mikkeller Stella glass) is brown with red tones. The inch high head is off-white and stays where it is supposed to. The nose is new cutted lawn mover grass with citric notes in minor key topped with some malt and sugar. The american hopnotes are wunderschön. The taste is fresh round and relatively mild takin in mind the hoppy monster it is. Its sweetness is perfectly balanced with the bittersweet hops and leaves lot of room to the malty flavour to play around. The finish is sweet but bitter with a creamy and fulled body palate
Green gold - is like the Hulk - a bad ass in disguise - when the inside is revealed you have no chance but letting the monster drag you down..fantastic IPA hirigalzkar (630), Stockholm, Sweden
