4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a dirty brown with a small white ring. Aroma is earthy pine hops and malt with a hint of toffee. Taste has a nice body with earthy hop bitterness with toffee from the malt, small amount of dankness that makes this extra tasty.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark amber pour. Fantastic "greenish" aroma, taste is even better with some caramel balancing the hoppy taste. Bitter is not as strong but pleasant. Truly a masterpiece

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330 ml bottle from LCBO, served quite cool in a tulip glass.
App.: Clear copper with an orange-tan head.
Aroma: Sweet toffee, brown sugar and burnt sugar maltiness, peppery, dank and resinous hops, a bit of pine, quite deep, rich and dark.
Palate: Medium+ body, syrupy with full, creamy carbonation.
Flav.: Similar to the nose with a big, rich malt backbone and black pepper, dank, deep/dark hoppiness, not entirely my cup of tea, but certainly a big girl; off-dry with firm bitterness and a long, richly malty and peppery finish.
An IPA for grown-ups.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
330 mL bottle. Hazy copper-orange with a solid white head. Mild pine, citrus and honey in the nose. Would be more appealing if it were a little stronger. The flavour is fairly balanced between resiny hops and honey malt, but that may have something to do with the age of the bottle. Still decent bitterness. Not bad.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
[Bottle (330ml)] Pours a murky copper-gold with an average size long-lasting frothy off-white head. Aroma of pine hops, bready malt, grain and some fruit. Flavours the same with a long bitter finish. Average bodied. Pretty good, not great.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle. Pours a hazy copper with a HUGE head of fine beige bubbles, with some serious lacing. The nose is very resinous with sweet malt notes, and grapefruit. BIG flavour out of the gate, pithy resinous notes, raisin, grapefruit, and tropical fruit that calms down into malt notes, metallic hops, more citrus pith notes, with a light celery note, and toffee in the finish...which goes on for a LONG time. Solid in every way. Excellent stuff.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Darkish gold color, nice creamy off white cap. Good pine and grapefruit peel aromas. Taste lets down a bit with too-brash bitter woody/grassy flavors, it is all tannins on the palate which give a dry feel. Some citrus and fruit struggle to come through, subtle and wonderful but ruined by the green-bark palate. I’d just have to surmise a mediocre batch or something? This is me liking the brewery too much to say anything but the truth - it’s slight train wreck, mostly by Mikkeller’s standards as others would dream to achieve even this. The Ontario batch of Cream Ale and KR:LEK fared better with similar subtlety showing the brewer’s obvious finesse and skill.
