COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At Mikkeller, we are firm in our belief that the best ideas from the brightest minds can be found among the ranks of the home-brewers. That is why we continue to nurture the innovative guys (so far only guys, come on ladies!) that make up the backbone of the big, bad home-brewing beer scene.
The 2011 Hop Bomb Challenge winner is Søren Davids – winning the title two years in a row! Our Swedish brothers followed up strongly, with Sea-goat Brewing coming in second and Christian Kapusta third.
A big thanks to all of you who went through the trouble of brewing and submitting a Hop Bomb. We at Mikkeller appreciate the amount of love (and hops) that goes into every one of your home-brews.
Brewed as collaboration between Søren Davids and Mikkeller.

Ingredienser: Vand, malt, (Pale, Munich, Caramunich, Wheat), humle (Simcoe, Centennial, Athanum) og gær.

Cloudy amber/orange pour with an eggshell head. Dark maltiness with some citrus over top. Not exciting. Light on flavour and kind of astringent.

Suutuntuma on täyteläisen katkera, lopussa jo todella katkera, varsinkin pale aleksi. Kokonaisuutena tämä on hieman erilainen pale ale, havua ja puuta, joka tulee vahvan humaloinnin kautta.

I wonder if Soren Davids is related to Edgar. Great footballer that fella. Tell you something you don’t know? Well, I may not be that interesting. Anyway, obviously a nice brew but if I’m gonna be critical it is a little rough on the malts, does tha tmake sense? I don’t even know if it is correct, I’m just doing my best here. Lovely hops though.

Big bottle split with various family members, Chez Veze, Christmas night. Pours slightly muddied orange amber with a low white top. Bags of floral and tropical aroma; honey on papaya, pineapple and peach flan. Husk, honey, botanical and lemon zest bitterness in the mouth. Lingers dryly with nutty malt. Solid, aromatic...but nothing special.

Bottle. Dark golden color with a medium sized off-white head. Fruity aroma with notes of orange, pine and caramel malt. Flavor is sweetish caramel malt, tropical fruits and pine. Medium body, some bitterness in the finish. Bottle wasn’t too fresh, but still very tasty brew.

On tap @ Animal. Orangish colour with a creamy off-white head, medium lasting. Aroma is very floral, hoppy and citrus notes. Flavor is fresh, with a decent bitterness; floral sensation in the aftertaste with hints of grapes. Carbonation and body are medium.

De grifo en Animal (Madrid). Una bomba lupulada y amarga ideal para los más IBUadictos.

massive pine aroma. Orange with a small head but big lacing. Brutally bitter with hardly the palate too back it up. One for the hopheads but goes a bit overboard. Decent stuff nonetheless
