COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At Mikkeller, we are firm in our belief that the best ideas from the brightest minds can be found among the ranks of the home-brewers. That is why we continue to nurture the innovative guys (so far only guys, come on ladies!) that make up the backbone of the big, bad home-brewing beer scene.
The 2011 Hop Bomb Challenge winner is Søren Davids – winning the title two years in a row! Our Swedish brothers followed up strongly, with Sea-goat Brewing coming in second and Christian Kapusta third.
A big thanks to all of you who went through the trouble of brewing and submitting a Hop Bomb. We at Mikkeller appreciate the amount of love (and hops) that goes into every one of your home-brews.
Brewed as collaboration between Søren Davids and Mikkeller.

Ingredienser: Vand, malt, (Pale, Munich, Caramunich, Wheat), humle (Simcoe, Centennial, Athanum) og gær.

massive pine aroma. Orange with a small head but big lacing. Brutally bitter with hardly the palate too back it up. One for the hopheads but goes a bit overboard. Decent stuff nonetheless

50 cl bottle @ home. Pours cloudy amber with some sediment and a white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is grapefruit, citrus, and caramel. Flavour is grapefruit, citrus, exotic fruits – with a bitter finish.

Bottle 50 cl at Mikkeller Bar. Hazy amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is fresh and intense hoppy - pine needles, grapefruit, mango. Taste is dry caramel malty with a fruitbowl of hops and a little grass, easy drinkable yet complex, leading to a massive bitter finish. Very enjoyable.

gramity (1307) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 22, 2012
The beer poured amber and quite cloudy. Its head was quite small and white. Aroma had berries, malts, farmhouse and hops. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were hops, berries, malts, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. Nice hoppy pale ale but a bit musty and the aroma could have been hoppier.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; pours hazy amber, piney hop aroma, first sip is where the did that hop go? The malt in the taste overwhelms the hop bitterness that I wanted to taste. Not very well balanced an OK beer but didn’t live up to my expectations.

50cl bottle. Deep amber, thin white head. Caramel, pine, fruity hoppy aroma. Flavor had pine needles, caramel, malt. Very bitter, not very fresh. Decent aroma though. Not really in balance. BBE 05/2013

Bottle 50 cl, BBE 5/2013. Poured hazy amber in color with thin tan head. Bitter hops and sweet caramel malt in aroma. Slightly bitter in taste with some sweet malty taste as well. Grassy bitter finish. Aroma promised a lot better, flavor not that good.
