4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Part of a six IPA tasting session. Listed as Double Imperial Pale Ale.
No freshness date, but I know this was released in February 2012.
Poured from a 330 mL bottle into a snifter.
A: Pours a slightly hazy golden with a 1/2 finger white head.
S: Lots of bright citrus, marmalade, and floral hops. Great aroma.
T: Taste follows the aroma pretty well, with a sweet malt backbone balancing out a high level of bitterness.
M: Crisp, light bodied, and well carbonated.
O: Definitely the best of the tasting. Balance is key here, as with the Hopzilla. Too bad it may only be a one time release, and since it is a single 11.2 oz bottle, it certainly is overpriced like most of Mikkeller’s beers.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
20120405 11.2oz bottle from Honeygo. Attractive beer with cloudy amber body and sticky, lasting, fine white head. Honey and sweet breakfast cereal aroma with a bit of tangerine and lemony dish soap. Tastes a bit old, slightly oxidized like many Mikkeller hoppy pale ales. Intensely bitter across the palate from start to finish and lingering. Not terribly astringent, which is nice. Alcohol and some vinyl notes come through at the end and linger retronasally. This bottle is about 8 oz too much, but that’s way better than 22 oz too much, and for that I am once again thankful for Mikkeller sticking most of their beers in 11.2 oz bottles sold singly. Even if they’re usually around six or seven bucks, it keeps me more likely to try them when I see a new one as it’s less risky than the larger formats for twice the price.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a cloudy amber with a white head with excellent lacing.
Smells rich with citrus and floral hops, reminding me of pineapple.
Tastes elegant; sweet, with a large hoppy bitterness, with pineapple and grapefruit.
Medium bodied, highly carbonated, oily/creamy texture.
Finishes bitter with a long duration.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Shared with Joes and Dutchdrebus @ Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Hazy medium orange color, full long lasting dense creamy white head. Smell hops, pine, grapefruit, resin, all perfectly balanced! Taste hops, pine, resin, medium to very bitter with sweetish fruity hints. Great fruity-bitter aftertaste. Medium carbonation, medium to full body. This is a great beer!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a big hazy tangerine with a massive off-white head. Nice lacing and beading. Pretty much everything about this is reminiscent of a Hopslam in my mind - big balanced pine and citrus, subdued booze undertones, with an exceedingly bitter afterbite. The beers drinks as easy as it can given the style. A tasty beer but, given the price, this is likely a one-time purchase.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Keg at CP&K Brighton. It pours clear orange, with a thick, foamy white head. The nose is fruit salad, hay, resin, pine, kumquat, citrus pith, sherbet and honey. The taste is orange, mango, passion fruit, fruit salad sweets, straw, pine, resinous hops, citrus pith, leaf, floral and some alcohol warmth, with a long bitter-citric finish. Medium to full body and moderate carbonation. Absolutely delicious and well balanced, although not as much hop burn as anticipated!

Pours a hazy golden amber with a huge tan head...lt sediment throughout...great retention and lacing! Aroma is light but floral with mild citrus notes, a bit of tea, and some spice...leafy. flavor is also floral and leafy with some citrusy tropical fruit, stonefruit, and a touch of spice...some malty sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish is bitter with a touch of fruit and slight warming note...a bit cloying.
