3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 shoulderbroken (1144) - Tokyo, JAPAN - SEP 26, 2012
Bottle at home from Tanakaya. Orange blond colour with beige bubbly head. Aroma is grassy hops, strong citrus bitterness, bit of pepper, something floral there too, and maybe something herbal. Quite unusual smell. Can definitely get that hop burn in the background. Taste is lots of fruit. Orange, apricot, something else tropical and then it gets overwhelmed by the bitterness. Some boozy sweetness too. More of a build than a bomb, but in any case, pretty full on. Think this have given me a headache already, but I won’t hold it against the beer. Leaves behind a bit of a prickle in the throat. I like it, but probably couldn’t drink a second straight away.

Peachy coloured body. The good bitterness, with complex hops and orange juicy citrus is up front and immediate. Malting pretty good too. Fuller mouthfeel. In your face like a double IPA. Very tasty, good drinkability for a high a.b.v.
